Are you a connector, a substantive leader, and an inspiration who can take culture and education to the next level? Do you have a solid grounding in the field, a keen eye for new developments, and the ability to drive them forward? Are you also not afraid to think and act critically and constructively? If so, we’re looking for you to be our new Cultural Education Team Leader!
Where will you be working?
The Cultural Education Team is part of Rijnbrink, an organization dedicated to fostering a society in which culture, education, and participation are accessible to everyone. Our team is part of the Culture Team, which also includes Musidesk. The Cultural Education Team works to achieve sustainable quality improvement in cultural education in Overijssel, doing so in close collaboration with the cultural ecosystem. We believe in a society where cultural education plays an essential role in the personal and social development of children and young people. Together with the cultural ecosystem, we want to create a future where cultural education is accessible and of high quality.
As a team, we work under the Quality Cultural Education (CmK) and Overijssel Cultural Education programs to provide high-quality cultural education to 21 municipalities in Overijssel. We do this through:
- Promoting educational pathways in elementary, secondary, and special education.
- Conducting research.
- Learning, developing, and advancing professionally in the fields of culture and education.
- Collecting, analyzing, and sharing data.
- Enabling knowledge sharing.
- Continue to seek connections between the above activities.
Within this ecosystem, we collaborate with partners such as the Province of Overijssel, the Fund for Cultural Participation, other CmK lead organizations, cultural providers, creators, researchers, and others. Our work is multifaceted, challenging, and impactful, driven by research and experimentation.
What will you be doing?
As the Cultural Education Team Leader, you will become part of a small, informal team consisting of four senior advisors, a team support staff member, and Rijnbrink’s Culture Manager—all of whom share a strong passion for cultural education. In addition, we work with a flexible network of professionals in the fields of culture and education. As Team Leader, you will have final responsibility for the cultural education programs we are working on and will collaborate with the advisors to ensure the successful implementation of our activities.
Your responsibilities:
- Team cohesion: You strengthen collaboration within the team, act as a bridge between colleagues, set clear goals, and create a safe, open work environment.
- Ambassador: You will represent our team and our field of work to the outside world, at the local, regional, and national levels. You are a persuasive and inspiring representative in meetings, networking events, and collaborative efforts. You are not afraid to raise issues and seek solutions in a diplomatic and respectful manner, including within Rijnbrink itself.
- Content-based leadership: You contribute ideas and work on substantive projects and research initiatives. With a strong practical focus, you actively contribute to the development of our work.
- Coaching-style leadership: You coach and guide colleagues in their professional development, help them leverage their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their work.
- Vision and Development: You have a clear vision for cultural education, can articulate it effectively, and are confident in advocating for it in discussions with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Process-oriented approach: You will support the team in inquiry-based and process-oriented learning, experimentation, and development.
What do you bring to the table?
You are a team leader who can think and act both practically and strategically. Someone who recognizes the power of culture in education and understands the needs of the team.
What matters to us:
- You have a passion for the cultural and educational sectors and can inspire others to work toward this goal.
- A college-level or higher education background and experience in the field of culture and education.
- You can guide, motivate, and bring a team together. You are a coach who provides direction while also allowing room for individual input.
- You have a clear vision of how culture, education, and participation relate to schooling, and you can translate this into concrete goals and programs.
- You communicate clearly, listen attentively, and are able to reconcile differing interests.
- You have an inquisitive and enterprising attitude, focused on learning and experimentation.
- You are critical, analytical, and able to translate complex developments into concrete actions.
- You are inspiring, dedicated, and personable.

Where will you be working:
Rijnbrink believes it is important for everyone to have the opportunity to grow. Young and old—throughout their lives. So that as many people as possible can participate and shape themselves and our society. Libraries, cultural institutions, schools, and music associations play a vital role in this lifelong development. Because that is where everyone gains access to what makes us human: our language, digital skills, literature, culture, and music.
From our beautiful office in Deventer, we work with and for library organizations, cultural institutions, schools, and music associations. We help them succeed in their social missions, make a difference, and remain future-proof. Together, we develop innovative solutions, services, and programs. In addition, our partners can hire Rijnbrink’s expertise and purchase services from us. In this way, we are building a culturally and organizationally strong, future-proof cultural sector—and a smart, skilled, and creative Gelderland and Overijssel.
