What will you be doing?

As the area team leader, you will support approximately 15 team members in effectively carrying out their duties. You will provide guidance, coaching, and motivation as needed during drop-in hours, children’s and youth programs, as well as in collaboration with volunteers and the local community.

Together with the team members, you draw up work plans, monitor results, identify bottlenecks, and discuss these issues. You serve as the internal and external point of contact for the area team. You contribute to the preparation of the budget and are responsible for monitoring the area team’s budget. You build relationships and create networks with people outside your own organization who are important to the organization’s objectives. You identify social trends and actively contribute ideas regarding the development and improvement of services.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree;
• You have demonstrable and relevant work experience in a managerial role;
• You have an understanding of the social services sector in Amsterdam;
• You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
• You are a natural team player, have excellent social skills and analytical abilities, and make decisions with ease;
• You are clear and results-oriented. You also keep the interests of your team members in mind. You know how to motivate and support them in their professional development;
• You are able to handle stress, flexible, and have strong problem-solving skills;
• You are open to other cultures and are aware of the potential effects of cultural differences.

What do we offer you?

We offer an independent role in a meaningful work environment.

• A 12-month contract with the intention of converting it to a permanent contract;
• A 32-hour contract;
• A salary based on Scale 10 of the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement (minimum €3,285 and maximum €4,927 per month based on a 36-hour workweek), with the specific pay grade determined by education and experience;
• A flexible spending allowance of 16.3% (this includes vacation pay);
• Commuting allowance;
