We, the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK), are looking for aSenior Executive Assistant to the Executive Board (0.8 FTE)
Who are you?
You are energetic, friendly, and flexible, with strong planning and organizational skills and a good sense of proportion. You work meticulously and have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English. You can work independently but also function well in collaboration with your fellow management assistant. You can handle confidential information and have strong empathy, allowing you to sense what is going on within the Executive Board and the organization. You are a stress-resistant organizer who is both assertive and adaptable, and you feel completely at ease around the organization’s top leadership. Finally, you thrive on varied workdays and are driven to organize your executive’s day down to the last detail; no two days are the same at the AHK.
What do you bring to the table?
You have completed a relevant program at the MBO+ level and enjoy sharing your knowledge with the team. Our team is diverse, and your input is a welcome addition. You have (preferably) several years of experience in a similar role. You are fully familiar with MS Teams and Office, and you quickly master new systems.
What will you be doing?
You will serve as the direct support, right-hand person, and primary point of contact for the chair of the Executive Board. You will do everything necessary to ensure that the chair’s workday runs smoothly, efficiently, and pleasantly. You have a genuine interest in the issues facing the Executive Board of this art college, and can quickly adapt, communicate, and act proactively based on that knowledge. You enjoy working alongside your fellow management assistant, so that together you form a close-knit team supporting the entire Executive Board and serving as the face of the organization’s leadership.
Who are we?
The Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) consists of six academies where ambitious and talented young people pursue intensive training in film, theater, (pop) music, dance, and other disciplines. Each academy has its own director and administrative office. The Executive Board consists of a chair and a vice-chair and provides leadership to the academy directors and the director of the service bureau, which encompasses all of the AHK’s support services. Your position is part of a team of two management assistants and is part of the dynamic executive office. The AHK’s academies are: the Academy of Theatre and Dance, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the Netherlands Film Academy, the Reinwardt Academy, the Breitner Academy, and the Academy of Architecture.

What do we offer?
A great workplace at an exciting university of applied sciences in the heart of Amsterdam. The position is classified in pay scale 8 in accordance with the collective labor agreement for higher professional education (CAO-HBO), under the generic job description for Management Support Staff-C (minimum €3,184, maximum €4,208 gross on a full-time basis); the starting salary depends in part on education and work experience. There is a good package of secondary employment benefits, in accordance with the Cao-HBO, such as an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, an ABP pension plan, a generous vacation policy, travel allowance, and opportunities for study and professional development. This is a one-year contract; subject to satisfactory performance, there is a possibility of permanent employment.
