
We are seeking a decisive and proactive Multidisciplinary Operational Preparedness Specialist for the Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek Security Bureau. This is a 36-hour-per-week position.
The Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek Safety Regions have a joint safety office that serves as the primary multidisciplinary platform for risk and crisis management. The Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek Safety Office has an opening for the position of “Multidisciplinary Operational Preparedness Specialist.” This is a varied and challenging position in which you will contribute to the safety of more than 600,000 residents in Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek.
An exciting position at a multifaceted organization where you will directly contribute to disaster and crisis preparedness and response. In this role, you will be responsible for initiating and developing policies at the operational and tactical levels. Working within a multidisciplinary environment alongside crisis partners, you will develop guidelines, plans, and complex procedures, among other things. You will monitor national developments in your field and implement new (national) policies within the Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek safety regions. When necessary, you will serve as a project leader for multidisciplinary projects. You will take initiative and create opportunities within the incident management team. Depending on your experience and ambition, you may eventually be assigned as an evaluator for multidisciplinary incidents. Holding the on-call position of Information Manager is also a possibility.
To effectively perform the role of Multidisciplinary Operational Preparedness Specialist, it is important that you have completed a bachelor’s degree (preferably in the field of integrated safety or information science). You have an affinity for and/or experience with crisis management. Since the role is still evolving, it is important that you are a strong pioneer. Planning and organizing your work effectively comes naturally to you. Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following competencies: analytical, collaborative, communicative, and able to handle stress. Finally, it is beneficial if you possess political and administrative insight.
To manage large-scale incidents, emergency services and their crisis partners collaborate in an expanded capacity within the crisis response organization. The Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek Safety Bureau, together with various chain partners, ensures that in the event of an emergency, a crisis response organization is in place with well-trained personnel, detailed plans, and available locations from which to operate. Currently, the Flevoland and Gooi en Vechtstreek Security Bureau is in the midst of a development process centered on the key principles of expertise, flexibility, and reliability.
The Incident Management (IM) team ensures that the necessary conditions—including personnel, cooperation agreements, information (plans, procedures, and up-to-date information), and resources—are in place, available, and ready for action. In addition, as a team, we are also responsible for conducting multidisciplinary evaluations. Our primary goal is to ensure that the crisis response organization functions optimally.

In addition, we offer you a one-year temporary contract with the prospect of permanent employment at the Flevoland Fire Department. The salary is up to €4,671.00 gross per month (job grade 10, salary level as of April 1, 2022), based on a 36-hour workweek. In addition, you will receive 17.05% of your gross salary in the form of an Individual Choice Budget (ICB). You can use this ICB as you see fit, for example, for extra time off or cash. Specifically, we offer the opportunity to be trained as an evaluator for multidisciplinary incidents and to serve in the on-call role of Information Manager. The current location is Lelystad, but this will change to Hilversum in 2025 following the completion of the Interregional Coordination Center (IRCC) for the Gooi- en Vechtstreek and Flevoland safety regions. The Flevoland and Gooi- en Vechtstreek Safety Agency will be housed in the IRCC.
