Senior Privacy Officer to lead NWO in the areas of privacy and the GDPR
Are you passionate about privacy and interested in helping a professional organization become more mature in this area? We could really use your knowledge, expertise, and advisory skills here at NWO. We’re committed to improving our approach to privacy, and we’d love to invest in you!
You will work closely with your fellow Senior Privacy Officer; together, you are responsible for ensuring privacy at NWO. You are true ambassadors in the field of privacy and data protection. In this role, you will also collaborate with the privacy coordinators in the various organizational units to implement and enforce privacy legislation and the protection of personal data. Together, you will ensure that NWO remains privacy-compliant. Additionally, you will work closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO), the Information Security Officer (ISO), and the privacy lawyers in the Legal Affairs department.
You and your colleague promote the importance of data protection and privacy laws within the organization, and you ensure that colleagues prioritize privacy when undertaking new projects, applications, and data processing activities. You also play a role in monitoring and improving the processes that make this possible.
Your work in practice:
You have an analytical mind and an eye for the various interests within the organization. You carefully weigh these interests, and your solutions are the result of well-considered choices. You communicate effectively and clearly, and you’re good at putting yourself in the other person’s shoes. You are a good listener and use this to identify what is happening within the organization when it comes to privacy. You can explain privacy topics to everyone in the organization in a simple way. You enjoy presenting and have a natural talent for it: you know how to hold your audience’s attention and convey the message effectively.
You know how to win people over and bring them together, even (or especially!) when there are conflicting interests. You set a clear course and take decisive action to ensure it is followed.
You have:

At NWO, we love teams with a good mix. In terms of age, background, ideas, and experience. The Legal Affairs department is home to seasoned professionals, young talents, and everyone in between. The more diverse the perspectives, the more valuable the team. NWO employees also have a lot in common: we are ambitious, driven by quality, and feel a strong connection to our work. We want to learn from each other and grow together in an open, collegial, and pleasant atmosphere. We work hard, but there’s also plenty of room for camaraderie and department and team activities. Job satisfaction and the personal development of our employees are important; we pay close attention to them, encouraging and facilitating them.
