More about this organization
A modern WWF office building featuring striking architecture, a curved facade, and glass elements, surrounded by greenery and trees.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF-NL) has been part of the international WWF since 1961. We are committed to the protection and conservation of nature, with a mission to make the world “Nature Positive.” This means turning nature loss into nature gain—and doing so as quickly as possible. Because nature is vital for both people and animals. But no one can change the world alone. That is why we work together with local partners, people, businesses, governments, and communities worldwide.

WWF-NL consists of the following departments: Conservation, Engagement, Organization & Talent Development, and Finance & Operations. To strengthen the Business Engagement team within Partnerships & Fundraising, which is part of the Engagement department, we are seeking aSenior Manager of Marketing Partnerships.(32–36 hours per week)

Would you like to play a key role in connecting businesses to our mission? Do you want to make an impact by engaging organizations and consumers in nature conservation? Then this position at WWF-NL is for you.

The Senior Manager of Marketing Partnerships reports to the Head of Partnerships & Fundraising.

About the Business Engagement Team

The Business Engagement team works with Dutch companies on initiatives that have a global impact on nature. We focus on three types of partnerships:

  1. Sustainable Business Partnerships: We help companies strengthen their sustainability policies and translate nature conservation goals into concrete actions.
  2. Fundraising Partnerships: Companies invest directly in nature conservation projects, from the Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil to food forests in the Netherlands.
  3. Marketing Partnerships: Through creative and impactful marketing partnerships, we raise awareness of WWF’s mission among both consumers and employees.

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Marketing Partnerships for the Business Engagement team who can develop marketing partnerships using both strategic and tactical approaches to help achieve our strategic goals for impact and revenue. The primary focus is on partnerships aimed at consumer and employee engagement. As part of the Business Engagement team, you will also be involved in developing sustainable business and fundraising partnerships.

As Senior Manager of Marketing Partnerships, you play a key role in connecting the business community to WWF-NL’s mission and strategy. You develop and implement recruitment and fundraising strategies that contribute to our nature conservation goals. You are responsible for establishing and maintaining business relationships and ensuring that agreements are carried out effectively. In doing so, you make a structural contribution to our ambition and goal of reducing the Dutch private sector’s footprint in WWF landscapes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and developing Consumer & Employee Engagement partnerships.
  • Identify market trends and translate them into concrete plans in collaboration with the Senior Marketer for Business Engagement.
  • Building, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Conducting contract negotiations aimed at achieving maximum impact and revenue for nature.
  • Evaluating partnerships and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Close collaboration with internal teams, including on WWF campaigns, and with the international WWF network.

What do you bring to the table?

We are looking for a motivated professional with a passion for sustainability and experience in marketing partnerships. Do you see yourself in the following points?

  • At least 5–7 years of relevant work experience in (marketing) partnerships with companies.
  • Strategic and commercial thinking, combined with the ability to develop creative partnerships.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive experience in business relationship management.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, co-branding, and communication.
  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce and data analysis is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • College or university level of work and thinking.

You’re also enterprising, decisive, and a true team player. You spot opportunities and have a proactive mindset. And, of course, we’d love for you to love nature as much as we do and be a team player.

  • Courage
  • Integrity
  • Respect
  • Collaborate

What do we offer?

  • Great coworkers and the opportunity to build an international network;
  • Vegetarian lunches in the company cafeteria and free Thursday afternoon drinks;
  • A position of 32–36 hours per week. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered with a one-month probationary period;
  • A competitive salary based on the Dutch nonprofit sector; the minimum gross monthly salary for this position is €4,147 and the maximum monthly salary is €5,752, depending on relevant experience (based on a 40-hour workweek) (Note: due to the maximum salary, we cannot sponsor a residence permit for highly skilled migrants for individuals over the age of 30.
