We are currently seeking a: Senior Energy & Industry Policy Analyst (0.8 FTE / 30 hours per week)
What will you be doing?
- You will be responsible for developing the substantive framework for our campaign, which aims to ensure that all major players in the energy and industrial sectors align their policies with the Paris Climate Agreement.
- You will develop a well-founded vision for a “Paris-proof” and climate-just energy sector and industry
- You commission research and analyze available information based on a research agenda.
- You will engage in lobbying activities targeting the political and business communities in the Netherlands and collaborate with our network of allies.
- You write articles and memos and give presentations to various audiences. You also provide information and verify facts for articles and other communication materials.
What are you bringing?
- You have knowledge of the energy and industrial sectors and climate policy in a broader sense, with an emphasis on climate justice.
- You have a network in these sectors.
- You have extensive experience conducting independent research or having it conducted.
- You are a good communicator; you speak easily and write well.
- It helps if you have experience setting up campaigns.
Who do you work with?
You will be part of the Content & Lobbying Department and will report to the head of that department. You will work closely with:
- the industry content specialist;
- the campaigners and content staff of the Content & Lobby team;
- your colleagues on the campaign team and those in the Movement Building, Communications & Fundraising, and Project Office departments.
What do we offer?
- A one-year contract with the option to extend.
- A salary ranging from €3,771 to €5,191 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
- A temporary gross allowance of €100 for full-time employees (this allowance will remain in effect until the new job and pay structure is implemented).
- Your own laptop that you take home with you every day, so you can work from home as well.

- The option to exchange (Christian) holidays for other holidays.
