Here’s what you’ll be doing as a Senior Financial Controller at Headquarters

As a senior financial controller, you will serve as a strategic partner for business control and for colleagues in the accounting department, covering both financial and non-financial performance. In addition to regular control activities, we focus on data development, process analysis, and the design of financial processes. 

Thanks to your accounting knowledge and attention to detail, you are invaluable:  

• When monitoring the quality of financial records  
• In coordinating monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings. 
• In preparing reports, along with accompanying explanations and justifications for the results, for internal and external stakeholders (including the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management). 
• In coordinating and monitoring the Planning and Control Cycle in accordance with NS guidelines. 
• For ad hoc issues raised by Business Control and/or the Financial Directors. 
• With the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)   
• Ensuring that NS complies with external laws and regulations (including IFRS). 

This is where you'll be working

You will be working in the Service Center Finance department within the Central Financial Control unit. You will be on-site approximately 2 to 3 days a week. In addition, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere at any time and to organize your workdays flexibly.

These are the job requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably a degree in public accounting.  
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a financial controller and/or as an (external) accountant. 
• You have accounting knowledge and, preferably, experience with SAP (SAP 4HANA); 
• You are able to plan and organize activities and tasks. 
• You are able to work meticulously and have an eye for detail, accuracy, and connections. 
• You are able to continue functioning effectively under stressful conditions. 
• Be able to recognize the impact and consequences of one’s own decisions or activities on other parts of the organization 
• You are able to work with others in a constructive manner to achieve shared goals.

• A salary between €4,190 and €7,015 gross per month (based on a 36-hour workweek).
• A 36-hour workweek.
