As a Communications Specialist for Leasehold and Issuance, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies tailored to various target groups within our organization and our leaseholders. You will play a crucial role in informing, engaging, and guiding colleagues and leaseholders through the transition to our new information system, HERA. You will work closely with various departments within the organization, including Information Services (IV), Policy Affairs, IT, and Finance. In addition, you will draw on the expertise of various colleagues from the Communications Department. Whether it involves public relations, web editing, social media experts, or the creators of the Amsterdam Krant: together, we are committed to reaching Amsterdam residents as effectively as possible.
- Developing and implementing communication strategies for a Leasehold Information System.
- Working to ensure clear, accessible, and reliable communication with Amsterdam residents, business owners, visitors, and our own organization.
- Collaborate with colleagues, leaseholders, and various departments to enhance the leaseholder experience.
Here's what you do on an average day
- HERA Internal Communications: Develop and implement an internal communications strategy to inform colleagues about the new HERA system, including the development process and user instructions.
- Communication Channels for Leaseholders: Create multiple communication channels tailored to leaseholders. These might include informational campaigns for leaseholders who have transferred their leases, updates on inflation adjustments, and the management of perpetual ground rents.
- Departmental Optimization: Develop and implement a communication plan to engage colleagues and keep them informed about cross-departmental optimization processes, such as divisions and adjustments to leasehold rights.
- Customer Journey Improvement: Collaborate with various departments to improve the customer journey for changes to ground lease rights via the "My Ground Lease" online portal.
- Digital Communication: Lead a communication initiative for leaseholders to register them for digital billing and communication, in close collaboration with the IT and Finance departments.
- Progress Report: Maintain regular communication with the Head of the Leasehold & Issuance Department and collaborate weekly with the E&U Communications Team to monitor progress.

The Communications team in the Leasehold and Issuance department consists of 1 senior, 2 mid-level, and 1 junior communications professional. Together, you are responsible for both internal and external communications. The Leasehold and Issuance department is made up of professional and knowledgeable colleagues who place a high priority on communication.
What you bring
For this position as a Senior Communications Professional in Leasehold and Issuance, you must have:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree level of work or thinking, demonstrated by at least 3 years of work experience in the field of developing and implementing communication strategies.
- Proven experience as a (communications) professional within a large, complex organization;
- Proven experience as a (communications) professional advising management.
You should have the following skills:

What we offer you
As a Senior Communications Professional for Leasehold and Issuance, you will join our team for 36 hours per week and can expect the following terms of employment.
- A gross monthly salary ranging from €4,020 to €5,725 (pay grade 11) based on a 36-hour workweek. The exact salary will be determined based on your education, knowledge, and experience.
- A one-year employment contract, with the possibility of a permanent contract thereafter, if you do not currently have an employment contract with the City of Amsterdam, or if you have only a temporary one.
- If you already have a permanent employment contract with the City of Amsterdam, you will retain it and be transferred.
