Utrechtzorg is seeking a senior communications advisor who wants to contribute to our important social mission: a healthy labor market for healthcare and social services in our region. Utrechtzorg is the leading labor market organization for healthcare and social services in the Utrecht, Amersfoort-Eemland, and Gooi & Vechtstreek regions. Together with 85 employers, we are committed to a strong, stable healthcare and social services sector.
As a senior communications advisor, you will serve as the team leader of our three-person communications team (including yourself). Through your clear coordination, you will provide functional leadership for this team. Your primary focus will be on Utrechtzorg’s corporate communications: positioning, strategy, stakeholder communications, and related resources. Your primary focus is on translating strategic and tactical plans into operational activities. In doing so, you set a clear course, serve as the point of contact for our CEO, and coach your team members. You ensure a strong connection between our program managers and the organization’s communication strategy. When necessary, you also perform operational tasks yourself.
Through its brands Jouwzorgbaan.nl and the Ik Zorg Shop, Utrechtzorg also handles tasks related to labor market communication. These tasks are carried out by independent contractors, with you overseeing the process.
We work on numerous projects, grants, and with many stakeholders. In addition to approximately 15 permanent colleagues at Utrechtzorg itself, you will be working with eleven partner regions and our national umbrella organization, RegioPlus. You’ll also collaborate with our 85 participating healthcare and social services organizations, educational institutions, regional stakeholders such as the Health Hub Utrecht, Utrecht Talent Alliance, IVVU, and VGU, local and regional governments, and other stakeholders. In this dynamic environment, you’ll keep a cool head and ensure that Utrechtzorg is recognized as an indispensable partner.
You have:
· At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
· A college-level education and equivalent work experience and analytical skills in communications, preferably within nonprofit organizations
· A team player who is persuasive, flexible, and decisive
· Experience with public affairs in a political and administrative setting and within a network
· Strong strategic and analytical skills; you can see the bigger picture
· Experience with stakeholder management in a complex environment
· You know how to bring projects and people together
· Experience providing substantive coaching to a communications team and a desire to build a strong team
· The ability to translate substantive plans into a clear, multi-year communication strategy
· An interest in the healthcare and social services sector
· Ability to translate complex issues into concrete solutions
The healthcare and social services sector faces a major challenge. Staffing shortages are already severe and are only set to grow. The sector will therefore have to undergo a major transition to ensure it can continue to provide quality care to everyone in the future. Utrechtzorg is eager to tackle this challenge. We don’t do this alone. Quite the contrary: our network of over 85 healthcare and social services organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders is, in our view, the key to solving this issue. We are a foundation with an executive director and a Board of Supervisors. The entire organization consists of 15 colleagues and a flexible pool of independent contractors. Our network is our greatest asset, and we know how to bring the right parties to the table for every labor market challenge. In doing so, we operate in a constantly changing and dynamic landscape of interests, developments, and innovations. If you thrive on that dynamism, have a passion for healthcare, and want to leverage the power of communication to make a difference, you’ll find a unique workplace with us where you can truly make a meaningful contribution to society.
· A challenging job, an interesting network, and a stimulating environment.
· A high degree of freedom and independence
· We are a small, dedicated organization with an important social mission. Utrechtzorg is home to a team of passionate colleagues who will make you feel welcome right away.
· This is a position for 24 to 32 hours per week
· The position is classified under FWG 60 of the VVT Collective Bargaining Agreement (up to €5,196 based on full-time employment, depending on experience). This includes vacation pay and a year-end bonus.
· The option to work remotely, but we also enjoy working in our open-plan office in Houten.
