Where will you be working?

INEA is the center of expertise on intercountry adoption. INEA is an independent organization, but administratively embedded within Fiom, the center of expertise in the field of unwanted pregnancy, adoption (including relinquishment), and kinship issues. 

INEA stands for Identity, Aftercare, Recognition, and Adoption Issues. Since 2023, INEA has been a resource for people with an adoption background and their support network (family, adoptive parents, friends, and other stakeholders) regarding all their questions about intercountry adoption. Our services include providing information on topics such as: access to files, psychosocial support, search efforts, and legal support. These services are, so to speak, the building blocks of the organization. They were established on behalf of the Ministry of Justice and Security. What will you be doing? 

Our mission deserves to be heard and discovered by everyone who needs us. It is crucial that we reach our target audience, and it is up to you to make that visibility and impact a reality. As a Communications Advisor, you are the driving force behind our visibility. You contribute ideas on the direction we take, but above all, you enjoy translating that direction into compelling content, a searchable website, and a growing community on social media. A true “building role” for a go-getter with a strategic mind.

As a Senior Communications Advisor at INEA, you will be responsible for developing and implementing INEA’s marketing and communications strategies and plans. You will take the lead in this process and create a plan for the entire organization, establishing a strong image and a fitting identity. You will translate the organization’s goals into a concrete annual plan and then implement it largely on your own. You switch effortlessly between drafting a communication plan for an INEA service and optimizing the content on our website. As a young organization, we deal with diverse and large stakeholders and groups, and the challenge is ensuring that every group feels sufficiently seen and heard. You know exactly how to address this.  

What do you bring to the table? 

• A degree in communication, journalism, or (online) marketing;
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and plans;
• An interest in adoption issues and an awareness of social trends;
• Experience with adoption-sensitive or trauma-sensitive communication is a plus;
• You’re someone with a business and marketing mindset who places a high priority on increasing brand awareness. You have excellent writing skills: your writing is natural, creative, and error-free;
• Fluency in spoken and written English is a plus;
• You are organized, able to maintain a clear overview, and meticulous and careful;
• A healthy dose of creativity, a sense of humor, curiosity, and the ability to empathize; 
• Working independently and taking responsibility come naturally to you;
• Experience with content management systems (WordPress) and Microsoft Office 365;
• Ideally, you have practical experience in the field of intercountry adoption. 

What do we offer? 

• Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, pay scale 9, up to a maximum of €5,769 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek;  
• One-year contract with the option to renew;
• A work-from-home policy that combines remote and on-site work, with Mondays and Wednesdays designated as office days;
• Phone and laptop on loan;
• Commuting allowance and a business travel policy;
• IKB consisting of an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and a vacation allowance of 8%;
