The SER has advocated that sectors and companies take the initiative to enter into agreements on international corporate social responsibility (ICSR) with the government and civil society organizations. This creates a tool for addressing risks of human rights violations and environmental damage in international supply chains. For workers and local communities, this leads to better protection against adverse effects, and companies are assisted with problems they cannot solve on their own.
Since 2016, agreements have been concluded in various sectors, including the food industry. The SER facilitated the development of these agreements and has also been asked to assist with their implementation.
For the Food Agreement, we are looking for a
Senior Policy Officer
’s Key Responsibilities As a senior policy officer, you will serve as the “hub” in the implementation of a covenant. You will support the steering committee and working groups; develop proposals, at the request of the parties, for the elaboration and implementation of the covenant agreements; act as a point of contact for the parties; and coordinate their efforts to ensure successful implementation. You also promote collaboration with relevant national and international initiatives and contribute to communication regarding the covenant. You will work in a small team with two colleagues.

At the SER and within the International CSR Program Directorate, you’ll work in an environment with a unique dynamic. You’ll be closely involved with politics and government, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders from the business community and civil society who represent diverse interests. You’ll contribute ideas on complex issues and work on jointly supported, future-proof solutions. You’ll do this alongside enthusiastic colleagues with deep expertise. We are initially offering a contract for a minimum of 32 hours per week for a period of one year. The salary scale depends on knowledge and experience, ranging from a minimum of €4,521 to a maximum of €6,107 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week). The SER collective bargaining agreement applies.
