Senior Policy Officer

What will you be doing?

• You will be responsible for defining and refining the objectives of the SER Youth Platform.
• In this role, you will be responsible for the long-term vision of the SER Youth Platform and the position of young people within the SER.
• You are responsible for preparing and finalizing the recommendations of the SER Youth Platform.
• You will coordinate the activities of the SER Youth Platform. This includes preparing the agenda for meetings, gatherings, expert sessions, working visits, etc.
• You will maintain contact with relevant parties such as government agencies, civil society, and youth organizations.
• You actively seek connections and opportunities for the SER Youth Platform in relation to other SER advisory bodies and activities.

What are your skills?

• You have work experience at an academic level in a similar role.
• You have an interest in issues affecting young people and an understanding of the role young people play on the Council.
• You have strong analytical skills: you understand the essence of complex issues and can distinguish between the main points and the details.
• You are skilled at balancing the different (and sometimes conflicting) interests of various parties.
• Writing is your strength: you’re good at turning complex topics into well-organized and engaging pieces.
• You have strong verbal communication skills and the flexibility to adapt your presentations—in terms of language and style—to the audience and/or the situation.
• You actively seek out connections and maintain relationships with relevant individuals and organizations.
• You think creatively and aren't afraid to think outside the box.

What do we offer?

This is a position requiring a minimum of 16 hours and a maximum of 24 hours per week, initially for one year, with the possibility of a permanent contract. The salary depends on relevant work experience and ranges from a minimum of €4,936 to a maximum of €6,668 gross per month for full-time employment (38 hours). About the Work and Income Program

You will be working in the Work and Income program. In this program, approximately 15 policy officers work enthusiastically together on issues related to social security, health and prevention, the SER Youth Platform, and pensions.

We use these to assess job-specific criteria during the application process and to evaluate job-specific competencies during interviews and writing assignments. During the interviews, we ask all candidates the same questions so that we can assess the extent to which they meet the job requirements.
