(Senior) Policy Advisor in the Financial and Economic Affairs Division

What will you be doing?

Depending on the department you’re assigned to, and in consultation with you, you’ll be assigned one or more cases. We’ll put together a work package with you, taking your personal needs and skills into account. Varied days? You bet! You’ll be involved in various cases. These can be substantive cases, such as export credit insurance or Customs, but also procedural cases, such as drafting a budget document for the House of Representatives or coordinating contacts with the Court of Audit. For example, you might collaborate with the Tax and Customs Administration to analyze productivity at the Tax Information Line. You’ll calculate the required capacity and consult with various departments within the Ministry of Finance to determine how productivity can be improved. Alternatively, you might work on improving the quality of research within the Ministry of Finance. In this role, you’ll organize knowledge-sharing sessions, invite researchers, and encourage colleagues to regularly evaluate their policies. Or you might dive deep into the financial systems at Customs. You’ll examine commitment management and the legitimacy of expenditures, and consult with Customs on how accountability for the figures can be further improved. Monthly salary: Min. €3,662 – Max. €6,320 (gross)
Employment type: Fixed-term employment contract with the possibility of conversion to a permanent contract

Other terms and conditions of employment

In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (ICB). The ICB consists of money (16.37% of your gross annual salary) and time. With the ICB, you can make choices that suit you and customize part of your employment benefits. For example, you can choose to have a portion of your monthly income paid out whenever you wish. You can also convert this budget into leave and vice versa, or spend it on tax-friendly purposes.
