Senior Consultant/Project Manager

24–32 hours per week

The number of older adults in the Netherlands is growing. This presents new challenges in providing care and support for this group. For example, when it comes to older adults with an immigrant background or limited health literacy. For them, our healthcare system is complicated. Healthcare institutions also often struggle to reach these older adults.

Through our program “Healthy Aging for Everyone,” we worktogether to ensure good access to and quality of care for vulnerable older adults. We do this, of course, in collaboration with healthcare and social services professionals who work in elder care. But we also work with the older adults themselves. At the national, regional, and local levels, we gather and develop (scientific) knowledge and collect experiences. We translate this into products that professionals can use in practice and for policy. To support us in this work, we are looking for a senior advisor/project manager who can easily connect knowledge and stakeholders. In this way, we want to contribute even more to a healthy and dignified old age for everyone.

What does your day look like?

• You will advise local and regional healthcare and social services agencies serving older adults, as well as policymakers, on inclusive care and support. In doing so, you will collaborate with professionals, universities and colleges, immigrant organizations, and, of course, older adults themselves;
• Together with your colleagues at Pharos and local and regional partners, you will help shape an effective approach to healthy aging. You will assist with development and implementation. You will do this by advising partners, giving presentations at conferences and symposia, chairing knowledge-sharing sessions, and conducting training sessions on this topic;
• You will provide advice and conduct research on inclusive dementia care. For example, you will explore the best ways to collaborate with vulnerable older adults and test tools for researchers. You will work closely with the program’s advisors on these initiatives.

Are you our ideal candidate?

• You have a degree in the social sciences and several years of senior-level work experience;
• You have up-to-date knowledge and experience in the field of older adults and health, and you have a network in the field of elder care;
• You have experience supporting local and regional organizations through change or innovation, working across different sectors, and you enjoy delivering training sessions;
• You have a keen sense of political and administrative dynamics, proactively share knowledge and insights, and translate these into opportunities for the program;
• You are pragmatic and able to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice;
• You are socially conscious and are committed to addressing health disparities among older adults.

What do we offer?

• Pharos adheres to the Mental Health Care Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position is classified in pay scale 60, which ranges from €3,760 to €4,883 based on a 36-hour workweek. Pay is determined based on experience.
• An 8% vacation bonus and an 8.33% year-end bonus
• Remote work: At Pharos, we work from home an average of 50% of the time. You will receive a travel allowance and a work-from-home allowance.
• A net phone allowance of €25 per month.

The position is generally for 24–32 hours per week, for one year, with the possibility of extension.
