We are looking for a Senior Procurement and Financing Advisor—someone with strong communication skills and a knack for strategic networking!
Sociaal Werk Nederland is the trade association for social work in the Netherlands. With over 500 social work organizations as members, the association represents more than 80 percent of the sector. Sociaal Werk Nederland creates the conditions under which members can do their work as effectively as possible, enabling them to contribute to resilient residents in vibrant neighborhoods.
Your profile and responsibilities
With your communication skills, you are a valued partner for policymakers, network partners, and the association’s members. You are a strategic thinker who likes to look at the bigger picture. You are patient and persistent, and you know that with this approach, you can have a major impact on developments in healthcare and social work—and ultimately on the lives of people in our society. Far-reaching measures will be necessary to keep the funding of preventive assistance, healthcare, and social work realistic. In this, you play a crucial role as a connector and strategic partner, helping to build a robust system of healthcare and social work. In addition to your people-oriented skills, you are also someone who is not daunted by the technical side of the work: the funding of social work and everything related to it. You are confident and self-assured; this means you are aware of your competencies, knowledge, and skills. You are an independent thinker with a collegial attitude. You thrive in this autonomous role, collaborating with a small, professional team within an organization characterized by short lines of communication. With your business administration/business background, you are intrinsically motivated to give meaning to social work.
The topics at hand are:
- A systemic reform of healthcare and social work, exploring ways to allocate resources in a more preventive manner.
- Support from the national government and political circles for a legal framework for social work.
- Sustainable and realistic funding for social service organizations.
- Issues surrounding the tax system as it relates to social work services, particularly with regard to VAT and corporate income tax.
Half of your time will be spent in meetings and lobbying in The Hague (ministries, the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, healthcare umbrella organizations, health insurers, and small and medium-sized businesses). The other half will be spent acting as an advisor to the members of Sociaal Werk Nederland. You have a good sense of relationships and are highly adept at building coalitions. You enjoy the game and love networking. You may have gained experience at a health insurer, industry association, or a municipal institution. You also have knowledge of procurement and financing issues.
If this profile sounds like you, we warmly invite you to apply, as there is an opportunity for candidates with development potential. We also strongly encourage people with a bicultural background to apply.
Skills:
- Strategic and analytical.
- Politically and administratively savvy, with a keen understanding of organizational dynamics.
- Connecting and people-oriented.
- Good communication skills.
- Confident.
What can you expect?
The new colleague will be joining an organization at the heart of the community, where you’ll be working on issues that truly matter to society. We’re based in the heart of Utrecht and have a close-knit team of over 20 passionate colleagues. The atmosphere is informal, and there’s plenty of freedom to approach your work in your own way. The position is for 32 hours per week.
In addition:
- A salary between €5,130 and €7,467 per month (based on a 36-hour workweek).
- Individual Choice Budget (IKB), including an 8% vacation allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus.
- A career budget that includes funding for training and professional development.
- Pension plan with the Healthcare and Welfare Pension Fund (PFZW).
