Since January 1, 2019, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy has been responsible for implementing part of the Network and Information Systems Protection Act (Wbni). A specific part of that responsibility involves operating the CSIRT for digital service providers. We do this in collaboration with the NCSC and the National Digital Infrastructure Inspectorate (RDI) as the regulator for digital service providers.
To better ensure continuity, we are now looking to expand the team. Our focus is on building a community with our target audience, delivering services and performing tasks, and actively participating in national and international CSIRT networks.
At the Computer Security Incident Response Team for Digital Service Providers (CSIRT-DSP), you will help strengthen the resilience of digital service providers in the Netherlands. The CSIRT-DSP operates in a dynamic field where news and incidents can follow one another in rapid succession. To assist cloud service providers, search engines, and online marketplaces in the Netherlands, you’ll use your knowledge and expertise to provide them with advice and support. Together with our national and international partners, we maintain an overview of current threats and risks. You’ll help refine this understanding, alert the target audience, and provide guidance on how to respond during incidents and prevent them from occurring.
The work primarily involves monitoring and analyzing vulnerabilities, sources, and incident reports. When an incident is reported, you will provide assistance based on our well-informed and connected position. In addition, we receive lists from partners—such as those containing vulnerable systems—which must be processed, and the affected organizations must be notified.
We handle this during business hours, but not all incidents occur during those hours. In some cases, this may mean we have to work longer hours or handle matters over the weekend. All of this is done based on availability and in close consultation.
In recent years, CSIRT-DSP has developed more services and products for its target audience. In preparation for the transposition of NIS2 into national legislation and the strategic decision, CSIRT-DSP will form a single cybersecurity organization together with the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) and the Digital Trust Center (DTC). Eventually, CSIRT-DSP will integrate with the NCSC and thereby become part of the Ministry of Justice and Security.
You should feel at home in a close-knit team that is undergoing change and becoming part of a larger organization, one that is supporting an increasing number of organizations in the Netherlands. You want to play a role in that as well.
You are willing to participate in this and make an active contribution.
