Are you a professional with experience as a secretary? Do you find legal issues challenging and application development interesting? Are you looking for a varied role with a lot of responsibility, and do you want to contribute to a social cause: professional education for every student? We are looking for a Secretary in Vensters.
The PO and VO Councils are seeking a secretary to support the team working on information products with legal issues related to both procurement and privacy. You will ensure that the team can work quickly and efficiently by documenting and improving internal processes. This includes developing (annual) plans and memos.
The Councils process (personal) data of students and staff in primary and secondary education. This entails a significant responsibility: we are committed to handling this data with care. You play a key role in ensuring that these processes are accurate and reliable and are audited as necessary. In this capacity, you will work closely with the Councils’ privacy officers and data protection officer.
In addition, we enter into agreements with our users and suppliers. You will play a key coordinating role in overseeing the conclusion of these agreements and ensuring proper compliance with the GDPR. You will take action whenever necessary. You will consult with and advise relevant colleagues. Finally, you will stay abreast of changes in education and privacy laws and regulations.
In your role as secretary, you will collaborate with the manager and the rest of the leadership team to develop proposals and ensure compliance with internal accountability requirements within the Boards. You are encouraged to offer both solicited and unsolicited advice based on your expertise. You will also ensure that internal procedures are clear, for example regarding contracts with new suppliers or school boards, and improve processes where necessary. When grant applications are being drafted, you will support the colleague responsible for the content and, if necessary, coordinate the process.
You are a professional with several years of experience working as a secretary in a public or quasi-public organization; knowledge of IT projects is a strong asset. You are looking for a varied role that offers a great deal of responsibility and autonomy—a role that contributes to a social cause: quality education for every student. You don’t want a monotonous workweek, and you’re eager to dive right in.
In addition, the ideal secretary has a legal background or a strong affinity for legal issues. Someone who is willing to dig deep into a topic, get to the bottom of it, explain how it works, and help enhance the team’s professionalism.
Finally, the secretary plays a key role in drafting proposals, so we hope you enjoy writing and are skilled at expressing yourself clearly. This will ensure that our goals are put into writing and translated into concrete plans with clear actions.
The PO-Raad and the VO-Raad are the sector organizations for primary and secondary education. These associations represent the common interests of school organizations in primary education, secondary education, special primary education, and (secondary) special education. The councils are thus authoritative advocates for these interests. In addition, both councils drive innovative projects and knowledge sharing in education. Quality is our top priority. After all, it concerns the future of our children and, by extension, the future of the Netherlands. That is why we remain committed to providing a quality education for every child.
The PO-Raad and the VO-Raad embrace variety and diversity, both within the sectors and among our own staff.
The PO and VO Councils support their members with information products from Vensters for accountability and quality assurance. Together, we are developing a platform with various applications for our members. To this end, we collaborate with many different internal and external stakeholders, such as the Ministry, DUO, and the Inspectorate. We enter into formal agreements with our users, partners, and suppliers regarding our collaboration and the associated obligations.
In addition to a competitive salary and a pleasant work environment, the PO-Raad offers an excellent benefits package:
