We’re looking for a new team member! Are you an experienced administrative assistant who understands how our safety region operates, what our environment looks like, and how you can best support both the board and the management team? Then we’re looking for you!
You will serve as the secretary, focusing primarily on supporting processes to ensure successful board meetings. You will be involved in the preparation, take minutes during the meeting, and ensure that the decisions made are properly followed up on. You understand the issues at hand and what is needed to ensure the decision-making process runs smoothly.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues on the team to discuss the schedule, procedures, and documents that need to be submitted to the board. If you identify areas for improvement or greater efficiency, you’ll propose solutions. With your help and support, the board and management team can make sound and transparent decisions based on a comprehensive, organization-wide perspective. You’ll always do this in collaboration with other colleagues within the department or beyond. Together with the two board advisors on the team, you ensure that the six mayors can effectively fulfill their roles on the board.
In addition, you will interact with residents and businesses regarding general inquiries about the safety region and ensure that questions are forwarded to the appropriate departments within or outside the organization.
Do you have an optimistic outlook and tend to focus on solutions and possibilities? Are organization and maintaining an overview your strongest skills? Are you meticulous, a true team player, and do you enjoy ensuring consistency among key decisions? Do you want to do your job a little better every day? Are you detail-oriented when it comes to deadlines and able to maintain a clear overview even under pressure? And are you a great colleague who enjoys helping others and appreciates a good joke and a laugh now and then?
At the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region, you can work with a great team where you’ll have opportunities to grow in your role.
You will be part of the Executive Team, which is part of the Executive and Communications (D&C) Department of the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region. The Executive Team consists of 11 colleagues. They focus on various areas, ranging from political and administrative matters to legal issues and internal organization. The team members advise and support the Safety Region’s board, the commander/director, and management in handling a wide range of strategic and tactical issues. In addition, the team ensures high-quality and careful decision-making. In this way, the team members contribute to the functioning of the various management teams and departments so that they can optimally fulfill their roles in (administrative) meetings. They do this with great enthusiasm and professionalism, but above all with camaraderie and humor!
