32 to 36 hours - Amsterdam
This is your job:
As secretary, you will serve as a crucial liaison between Eigen Haard’s Executive Board and Supervisory Board. You will coordinate interests, ensure the flow of information remains up to standard, and streamline administrative processes. You maintain a keen eye on the quality of decision-making and ensure that it complies with laws and regulations, such as the Housing Act.
In this role, you will serve as an advisor to the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board, and you will lead the executive secretariat with precision and structure. You are well-informed about social, legal, and governance developments that affect Eigen Haard, with a particular focus on the roles of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board, and you proactively inform and advise them on these matters. You work very closely with the Executive Board and are at the forefront of where strategic decisions are made and the latest developments are discussed.
As a member of the executive team, you will report directly to the Board of Directors and build and maintain both internal and external networks to effectively fulfill your role. As a unifying force behind the scenes, you will ensure that governance remains up to date and functions optimally within the organization.
In your role:
- As a strategic advisor and sparring partner, are you capable of thinking at a high level and supporting the Board of Directors in developing and implementing strategies?
- You will advise and support the Supervisory Board on matters such as compliance with the Corporate Governance Code and other relevant laws and regulations, sound decision-making and proper documentation and follow-up thereof, and the appointment and reappointment of members of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board.
- Do your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including the Executive Board, the Supervisory Board, the Works Council, and other internal and external stakeholders?
- Understand complex issues and provide valuable input that supports decision-making.
- You will facilitate administrative consultations and decision-making processes and provide substantive support to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
- You will draw up the annual agenda for the Supervisory Board and the executive team and ensure that meetings are properly prepared and minuted.
- You review all relevant documents for quality and ensure that decision-making is carried out carefully and effectively.
- Do you ensure that the organization complies with the articles of incorporation, bylaws, and procedures relevant to governance?
Why you’re the right fit for us:
Because you are a meticulous and responsible professional who can respond proactively and flexibly to changing circumstances. And because you excel at organizing and planning, maintaining an overview, and seeing the big picture.
You also recognize yourself in the following:
- You have a university-level education and a bachelor’s degree, preferably in law or public administration.
- You are a natural point of contact for the Executive Board, the management team, and the Supervisory Board, and you move easily throughout the organization.
- You have in-depth knowledge of good governance and know how to take steps to ensure it within the organization.
- You are socially aware: you recognize social, political, and economic developments or other relevant environmental factors that are important to or influence the work of a housing association.
- You have highly developed analytical skills: you can identify relevant information in complex situations and effortlessly establish cause-and-effect relationships or "if-then" connections.
- You are someone who finds fulfillment in creating the best conditions for the board and the organization to thrive. You enjoy working behind the scenes to put others in the spotlight.
- Your communication skills are excellent: you communicate verbally with tact yet clarity, and in writing you are clear and to the point. This makes it easy for you to connect with others.
Here's what we offer:
With us, you have every opportunity to grow and choose your own career path. But there’s much more! We also have our own gym where you can clear your head and get some exercise.
In exchange for sharing your talent, we offer you:
- A fixed-term contract for 32 to 36 hours per week, with the intention of converting it to a permanent contract after 12 months.
- A salary within pay scale L of the Housing Services Collective Bargaining Agreement, depending on your knowledge and experience (range: €4,894 to €7,198). You will also receive a fixed year-end bonus of 6%.
- In addition to a wide range of training and development opportunities, we also provide you with a personal training budget.
- You'll be provided with a company phone and laptop.
- With us, you have the option to swap public holidays: would you like to swap your time off on Ascension Day or Whit Monday for days that are special to you?
- Want to go on vacation more often? No problem. You can also buy extra vacation days from us.
- Our headquarters is located near Sloterdijk Station and is therefore easily accessible by public transportation.
This is where you'll end up:
You will be working in an organization that is constantly evolving and committed to providing the best possible service. This year, we have set a clear course for change, making deliberate choices about how to prioritize our projects: what is our core mission, and what contributes to our goal of putting the tenant first? What do we need to plan for, and what can we do right now?
By focusing on our mission, we strengthen our collaboration, actively engage tenants, and take responsibility for our work.
At Eigen Haard, we believe in the power of collaboration, where we support one another and keep each other on our toes. We provide plenty of room for you to be yourself and bring your ideas to life. Together, we ensure that both our colleagues and our tenants are treated fairly.
