Many consider the Royal Carré Theatre to be the most beautiful theatre in the Netherlands. The theatre is known for its diverse programming of national and international theatre productions of the highest caliber. With every conceivable theatre genre, from circus to cabaret and from pop concerts to opera, Carré offers a unique theatrical experience for everyone. For over 136 years, 400,000 visitors have made their way to the famous theater on the Amstel every year to experience the magic of Carré. Everyone is welcome at Carré, no matter who you are or where you come from. This applies not only to our visitors but also to our (future) employees.
Carré is a cultural enterprise. It is an independent theater that is both artistically and financially autonomous. The Carré Fund Foundation and its donors make projects possible that allow Carré to innovate as a modern theater. Business partners also support Carré in realizing its ambitions in the areas of culture, accessibility, heritage, and sustainability. We are looking for a colleague with relevant experience to join the development team (Carré Fund and business partnerships) and expand the team. The focus is on engaging with prospects, writing compelling proposals, and driving conversions. You will proactively seek out potential donors and partners. You will build relationships, ask for donations to engage individuals and companies, and foster long-term loyalty to our organization. You will maintain contact with and provide support to our contacts. You will prepare receptions, premieres, and fundraising events in collaboration with your colleagues and the board, attend these events, and follow up afterward.
You can independently develop and implement project plans and proposals. You excel at writing persuasive copy and have experience with grant applications and partner proposals. This includes research and business development. You are a natural at communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing. You also write content for websites, social media, and newsletters. In the coordinator’s absence (maternity leave), you will temporarily handle secretarial duties for the board. Scheduling appointments, monitoring the schedule, handling (financial) administration, and internal organization are part of your role. You will collaborate with various departments, such as Programming, on project proposals.
