Registrar
Museum Voorlinden offers a complete experience of art, nature, and architecture; an oasis in the bustling metropolitan area. The museum is open 365 days a year, every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It hosts exhibitions featuring works from its own collection, as well as three to four solo exhibitions per year showcasing emerging talents or internationally renowned artists. With an enthusiastic team, we manage the museum, the collection, the gift shop, and the restaurant.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated: registrar of modern and contemporary art
About the role
As a collection registrar, you will be responsible for effectively managing, documenting, and organizing our dynamic and growing collection of modern and contemporary art.
You are part of our art team and play a key role in maintaining both international and domestic contacts, such as with museums, galleries, and studios. You also play a key role in the administrative processes that ensure the accessibility of our collection. In addition, you are closely involved in the organization of the existing and new storage facilities.
Your responsibilities
- You will coordinate the process of acquiring new items for the collection.
- You manage and oversee outgoing loans, including contracts, insurance, and art transport.
- You will manage, preserve, and catalog the collection, both physically in the storage area and digitally in The Museum System (TMS).
- You will coordinate all movements of the collection, both within and outside the museum.
- You will coordinate the setup of the (new) warehouse.
What do you bring to the table?
- Reinwardt Academy or another relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree program.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position in the museum sector.
- Proven experience with international loan transactions and with working with a collection management system, preferably TMS.
- Results-oriented, resilient, and team-oriented.
- Analytical, meticulous, organizational skills, ability to maintain an overview.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- You have a driver's license.
