
The Drents Museum is a leading museum known for its high-profile exhibitions in the fields of archaeology, art from around 1900, contemporary realism, and the cultural history of Drenthe. We organize 2 to 3 major exhibitions and 4 to 6 smaller presentations each year. We currently have an opening on our team for an energetic and motivated Registrar / Exhibitions Coordinator, 32 hours per week.

You will work closely with the Head of Exhibitions. Together with the project team, you will organize major (international) exhibitions and smaller presentations. You will be involved in preparing, planning, and coordinating all presentation-related activities. Your responsibilities will include managing the logistics of incoming loans, insurance, and transportation. You will handle loan agreements and condition reports. You will work with people from all over the world. You will coordinate the setup and design of the exhibitions. The schedule you draw up will serve as the guiding framework for these activities. You will handle the associated project administration and serve as the central hub of the exhibition organization. You will connect internal and external stakeholders, such as designers and exhibition builders. Together with the team, you will oversee the structural maintenance of both temporary and permanent exhibitions. You will also perform collection-related tasks in the storage facility.
You have completed a relevant degree program and/or have experience in the field. You work accurately and in a structured manner. You are results-oriented, cost-conscious, and proficient with various software packages. You can work on a project basis, whether independently or as part of a team. You are fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing, and get along well with all types of people. With your enthusiasm and social skills, you are able to build strong relationships with relevant groups both within and outside the organization. You have an eye for quality. You are flexible and hands-on. You are a master at planning. It would be a plus if you have performed the mentioned tasks before. For this position, you must hold a driver’s license.
An interesting position in a dynamic organization with colleagues who are eager to share their knowledge with you and learn from you. You will be offered a one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position. The position is currently classified in scale 8 of the Museum Collective Labor Agreement, pending a new pay scale system in 2024. You will also receive an Individual Choice Budget of 13.84% per year (vacation pay, year-end bonus, and extra-statutory leave) that you can use as you wish, and we have a travel expense reimbursement policy. We are affiliated with the ABP pension fund.
