Focus informs viewers and listeners about scientific developments and the facts behind the news—from small, current issues to universal problems of our time. What does ultra-processed food do to the body? Is there a solution to PFAS contamination? How can we reduce the strain on the power grid? And where does science stand in the search for a solution to Long COVID? In Focus’s podcasts, radio shows, TV broadcasts, and YouTube videos, we investigate these questions for you. 

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Pitching ideas at editorial meetings, researching and gathering other editorial input, and developing those ideas, with a focus on our video stories for TV and YouTube. 
• Reaching out to, advocating for, and supporting scientists, researchers, and other stakeholders in the field; 
• Work with the director to create regular episodes (30 minutes) and YouTube stories (15–20 minutes); 
• Posting relevant content on our social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn; 
• Get involved in special events at NTR Science, such as the InScience Festival, meetups, the NPO Luister Podcast Festival, and other events in the field.  

This is you:

• Passionate about scientific developments and an expert at translating complex information into clear and engaging articles; 
• With extensive experience as a TV editor, but also familiar with other forms of content creation, we could really use your help with our podcasts, radio, and online productions; 
• A storyteller who can think in terms of scenes and stories; 
• Full of original ideas and curious about the unknown; 
• Has a strong network in the scientific community; 
• You are flexible, a strong communicator, and have good social skills, which allows you to work comfortably as part of a team. 

Here's what we offer:

A one-year contract starting January 1, 2025, with the possibility of renewal. Depending on knowledge and experience, this position will be compensated within salary grade F or G of the broadcasting collective bargaining agreement.
