
Once a week, from Wednesday night to Thursday morning, from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., NTR Science presents the program “The Night of NTR Science” on NPO Radio 1, featuring podcasts and interviews, with a different scientist as a guest on each broadcast. Of all the people who listen to the radio at night, nearly a third tune in to NPO Radio 1. We provide these 58,000 listeners with meaningful company during the night. The night on NPO Radio 1 does not remain in the shadows; it is a place for the development of radio talent that wants to be heard.
For the radio program, you’ll keep track of science news and, in consultation with the editorial team, select an interesting guest from the scientific community each week. You’ll conduct preliminary interviews, prepare for the interview, and incorporate it into a script. You’ll be on the air at night. You’ll welcome the guest, put together the entire broadcast with your colleague, edit clips, learn how to operate the studio equipment, and take turns handling the technical aspects of the broadcasts on your own. You’ll host the broadcast, alternating with your colleague. When your colleague is hosting, you’ll handle the production and serve as the backup host.
Our editorial team produces a variety of podcasts, including the Focus podcast. As part of this team, you’ll develop in-depth stories into feature reports and support one another with production, editing, and technical work.
A temporary contract for the period from January/February 2025 to June/July 2026, with a possible 6-month extension. This position is classified within salary grade F of the broadcasting collective bargaining agreement. The program “De Nacht van NPO Radio 1” is a talent development platform; in this role, there is a budget and focus on your professional development.
