NPO Soul & Jazz is the station that features soul, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, funk, and other laid-back genres. During the day, listeners can enjoy a non-stop playlist, and in the late evening, Monday through Friday, there’s the new NTR program “Round Midnight,” packed with new releases, interviews, concert recommendations, old gems, and live recordings. In addition, NTR produces in-depth podcasts and festival reports for NPO Soul & Jazz, covering events such as North Sea Jazz, Eurosonic Noorderslag, and Super Sonic Jazz.

To support our Soul & Jazz team, we are looking for anEditor/Producer.

Here's what you'll be doing:

To form the core editorial team, together with the editor-in-chief, the presenters, and several freelance editors, in order to ensure the continuity of and collaboration with NPO Soul & Jazz;
Create original content and promote the NPO Soul & Jazz programs and podcasts online;
Translate the content from the shows and podcasts for online use;
Writing articles for the NPO Soul & Jazz website;
Providing editorial support to the program producers;
Contribute original ideas for festival-related content;
Conducting research and gathering input for interviews or reports;
Work with the editor, content strategist, and marketing department to develop a strong social media strategy.
Work on major productions and live events.

This is you:

You're hooked on discovering new soul and jazz music, and you know what's going on in the genre;
Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn;
Sociable and able to easily stay in touch with both your colleagues and people in the NPO Soul & Jazz network;
You’re up to date on what’s trending online among NPO Soul & Jazz’s target audience, and you bring a lot of initiative to the table;
A social media expert with a knack for writing—whether it’s for Instagram, a script, or the description under a YouTube video—your copy is always engaging and spot on.

Here's what we offer:

A contract for a minimum of one year, with the possibility of extension. Depending on knowledge and experience, this position is compensated within salary grade F (€2,711.87 – €3,988.60) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for broadcasting staff.

You’ll also be joining a small team of enthusiastic music lovers within the larger “Culture” department. You’ll primarily work closely with the Soul & Jazz editor, mostly at the Mediapark in Hilversum but sometimes in a hybrid setting.
