About Spraakmakers

"Spraakmakers" is KRO-NCRV's daily talk show on Radio 1. In this program, host Roos Abelman welcomes inspiring guests to discuss current events and background stories. The show also features the familiar segments "Stand.nl," "Mediaforum," and the "National News Quiz."

The editorial team at “Spraakmakers” closely follows current events and creates surprising and original radio stories. We love drawing inspiration from our listeners and are proud of the “Spraakmakers community,” which serves as a valuable source of ideas. 

“Spraakmakers” airs every weekday on Radio 1 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. 

Your temp assignments start early (7:00 a.m.); during scheduling shifts, you work during office hours and have the freedom to arrange your schedule flexibly. You’ll start out in scheduling but will eventually also take on temp assignments. 

About the role

We are looking for an Editor for our program who has a large network and a creative mind. During live broadcasts, you will produce one of the regular segments (Stand.nl, Mediaforum, and the National News Quiz) under high pressure. During pre-recorded segments, you will take charge of the second hour, featuring compelling guests with in-depth news stories and other current topics.

About you

• You are a creative and enthusiastic editor who is used to working under tight deadlines;
• Several years of experience in a similar position in radio or television is required;
• You have a passion for radio and the courage to take risks;
• You follow the news closely and are able to report on it yourself;
• You add urgency and timeliness to items;
• You come up with original, striking, and unconventional ideas and develop them meticulously;
• You have good interpersonal skills and can easily connect with people (over the phone);
• You work well as part of a team;
• You are willing and able to explore new avenues when it comes to the online world, social media, and journalism.

What do we offer?

We offer a challenging position in a friendly team where the work environment is pleasant. In addition, we offer a 32-hour-per-week employment contract, initially for the period from June 15 to December 31, 2025. 

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Broadcasting Personnel, this position is classified in pay scale G. The salary depends on age and experience and ranges from €3,118.48 to €4,757.41 per month for a full-time position of 36 hours per week.
