The World Wildlife Fund (WWF-NL) is committed to ensuring that the Earth remains a livable place for everyone—for people and animals alike—everywhere in the world. To help us in this mission, we are looking for a Public Relations Advisor to work 32–40 hours per week.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic colleague who can quickly and easily connect with journalists and (potential) media partners. You maintain a broad (media) network. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone. You enjoy diving into the content and quickly recognize what’s exciting or newsworthy. Together with two other Press Officers/PR Advisors, you’ll form the PR team. This team is part of the Brand & Communications Chapter within the Engagement department, one of the four departments at WWF-NL. You work closely with the communications managers to determine the right messaging, with the experts from the Conservation department on solutions in the field, and with marketers to collaborate on campaigns.
The PR team strengthens the World Wildlife Fund’s reputation through the use of smart PR strategies. The issues you address span the entire organization: from the impacts of climate change to the transition to a nature-friendly food system, and from protecting forest elephants in Africa to developments surrounding the nitrogen crisis in the Netherlands. As a respected knowledge institute, the World Wildlife Fund is at the center of many socially relevant developments. Every day brings a new challenge!

What do you bring to the table?
- Guts, a healthy dose of self-confidence, and the ability to win people over;
- You are assertive and meticulous, and you work informally within a team to get the most out of the project. You’re also willing to manage projects independently and take risks if doing so leads to greater success;
- At least 3 years of experience as a press officer or PR manager in the Dutch media landscape, in both B2B and B2C sectors;
- Curiosity and a desire to learn about internal and external developments in order to determine how relevant they are to our target audiences;
- A sharp and creative writer;
- Both the analytical ability to identify the big picture and an eye for detail to ensure accuracy;
- You don't let things rattle you easily and are a beacon of calm, even under pressure;
