As a Public Affairs Advisor, you will develop and implement the Public Affairs strategy based on the Longfonds’ mission, vision, and objectives. The focus will be on issues such as clean air and current challenges facing people with lung disease, such as medication shortages. We collaborate with partner organizations to some extent, but also operate independently. You serve as the link between the political sphere and our social agenda. You will work within the Corporate Affairs team alongside PR and Corporate Communications, and collaborate actively and closely with both relevant impact teams at Longfonds and with the Director and the Impact Manager.
Who are you?
- You will develop and implement targeted lobbying strategies that strengthen Longfonds’s positioning. You actively follow political developments and are able to interpret them and link them to our mission, vision, and objectives
- You build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as government agencies, members of Congress, and policymakers, to mobilize support and make an impact. In doing so, you focus on results and ensure that Longfonds is at the table when it matters most
- You will contribute to relevant debates, committee meetings, elections, and/or discussions with members of Congress, policymakers, or stakeholders. You will link current events to the Longfonds’s objectives
- You build and maintain strategic alliances and partnerships with other organizations, both within and outside the sector, to achieve shared goals and influence policy
- You will safeguard and enhance the Longfonds’ reputation by taking a proactive approach (guiding, encouraging, and responding) in various settings where public perception is expressed or shaped
What do you bring to the table?
- You have a college or university level of work and thinking
- You have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position
- You have strong communication, interpersonal, and consulting skills
- You have a keen understanding of administrative, political, and organizational matters
- You feel connected to the Longfonds mission and to people with lung disease, and you have an intrinsic motivation to contribute to healthy lungs and clean air
- You are persuasive and know how to inspire people
- You work well with others, adapt easily, and connect with everyone, regardless of their role, status, or political views
- You communicate flawlessly, both verbally and in writing

- A salary according to pay scale K (from €4,290 to €6,172) under the Longfonds collective bargaining agreement, depending on education and experience, based on a 36-hour workweek

Which team will you be working on?
As a Public Affairs Advisor, you will be part of the Corporate Affairs Team. This team oversees the intersection of Public Affairs, Corporate Communications (internal and external), and Public Relations. The Corporate Affairs Team helps establish Longfonds as the leading authority on healthy lungs and clean air and plays a proactive and pivotal role in driving the social changes necessary for lung health.
