The number of styling sessions for clients of Dress for Success Amsterdam (DFS) has declined significantly during and after the COVID-19 crisis. Our goal is to bring these sessions back to pre-pandemic levels (around 1,000), and ideally even higher. After all, it is a wonderful concept that has already benefited many people. To increase the number of fitting sessions and attract more clients, additional efforts must be made toward referring partners. That is what this temporary position is about.
What will you be doing?
We need to catch up to bring the number of dressing sessions back to at least their previous level. In our experience, once referrers learn about DFS, they actively refer people.
- When you start, you’ll work with floor manager Jorien Korting and a board member to draw up an action plan. Part of this plan includes a script for how to introduce DFS, for example, using the digital brochure.
- You will email and call prospects, key contacts, and account managers in Amsterdam and surrounding municipalities to establish new relationships or reignite interest in existing ones. You will explain our concept (and associated costs) and ensure that agreements and partnership arrangements are clearly and specifically documented.
- You will be responsible for expanding the database of referrers and contacts.
- If desired, you can send out an invitation to visit the store or, together with the floor manager, set up a booth at a job fair.
- In this role, you will work closely with the floor manager. You will report to board members Moniek Vossenaar and Tjeerd Hulsman. Your key performance indicator is to increase the number of styling sessions from 50 to approximately 100 per month.
What is your profile?
- You have the drive, experience, and skills to secure (financial) partners for Dress for Success Amsterdam for several years.
- You are outgoing and proactive.
- You are a team player with a passion for working for a nonprofit organization.
- You are proactive, have a keen sense of organization, and are a natural networker.
- You are committed to growing your customer base.
- You can adapt quickly at both the tactical and operational levels.
- You can start right away, preferably on or after November 1, 2023.
What do we offer?
The assignment is initially for 6 months, with the option to extend for an additional 6 months. The hours are flexible. We expect a minimum of 12 hours per week, at least half of which must be spent at the DFS store in Amsterdam.
We will determine the compensation package in consultation with you; it will depend in part on your background and experience.
