Project Assistant

What will you be doing?

• You will organize events, promotions, and demonstrations as part of the campaign and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
•  You will provide guidance and support to the volunteers involved, in consultation with the event coordinator or organizer.
• Together with the event coordinator, you will oversee and ensure the image and intended atmosphere of campaigns and events.
• You will be responsible for the production and maintenance of promotional materials.
• You will create scripts and organize campaign days and activities for our change agents.

What does an organizer do?

An organizer works to involve as many volunteers as possible in Milieudefensie’s campaigns. We also refer to volunteers as “change-makers.” The more people who join us, the more pressure we can put on major polluters. Polluters are powerful, but together we are stronger.

What are you bringing?

• You’re a great communicator, have excellent organizational skills, and your enthusiasm is contagious.
• You have experience working with volunteers.
• You adapt easily, are a hard worker, and are willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

Who do you work with?

You will work closely with the event coordinator, organizers, and colleagues from other departments, depending on the project you are working on.

You will work in the Exercise Program Department and report to the campaign coordinator.

What do we offer?

• A one-year contract with the option to extend. 
• A salary ranging from €3,315 to €4,455 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
• A temporary gross allowance of €100 for full-time employees (this allowance will remain in effect until the new job and pay structure is implemented).
• Your own laptop that you take home with you every day, so you can work from home as well.
• The ability to arrange your work hours flexibly.
• The option to exchange (Christian) holidays for other holidays.
• A casual and open work environment with enthusiastic colleagues.
• A sufficient travel allowance, work-from-home allowance, and leave policy.
• An office in the heart of Amsterdam, easily accessible by bike and public transportation.
• A vegan lunch twice a week for a small fee.

Milieudefensie staff work partly from home. We meet both online and in the office.
