Who are you?
You are an experienced project manager with a track record in practice-oriented research projects, reporting to grant providers and partners, and organizing knowledge transfer events. You are well-informed about current developments in design research and education at the intersection of art, science, technology, and the social sector. You feel at home in a university of applied sciences environment. You enjoy collaborating with researchers, social partners, and the business community. You are a flexible team player who, together with colleagues, is committed to achieving optimal results. You work methodically and maintain an overview, but you can also quickly switch between creative and flexible ways of working. You are entrepreneurial and digitally savvy. You are familiar with working in digital environments and have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Teams. You have a hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (spoken, written, social media, etc.).
What do you bring to the table?
You have a background in at least one of the disciplines on which the CoE Arts&Education focuses: arts, science, technology, and/or the social sciences. Experience with fundraising is a plus. You have completed a bachelor’s degree and a complementary master’s degree in the field of art, science, technology, social studies, or education. You are a certified project manager or have demonstrable experience in this area.
What will you be doing?
At the new CoE Arts&Education, we work on practice-oriented research projects, knowledge-sharing events, and professional development training with our partners in labs at various locations across the country (and eventually Europe). You will be responsible for the project management of (part of) these activities. This means you will take a hands-on approach as a project manager, coordinating the preparation, execution, and reporting of the activities. In addition, you will collaborate with and contribute ideas alongside colleagues to develop new activities and revenue streams.
Who are we?
The Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) consists of the Breitner Academy, the Academy of Architecture, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the Netherlands Film Academy, the Reinwardt Academy, and the Academy of Theatre and Dance. In addition to arts education, the university is increasingly focusing on research and innovation.
The Centre of Expertise Arts&Education is a new cross-disciplinary initiative of the Art Education research group and is supported by the Executive Board of the Amsterdam University of the Arts. It works closely with the AHK academies, the professors, and the programs of the six partner institutions: St. Joost | Avans University of Applied Sciences, iPabo University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Codarts, Fontys University of Applied Sciences, HKU, and researchers from ROC van Amsterdam-Flevoland. The CoE’s headquarters are located in the AHK LearningLab at the Marineterrein in Amsterdam.
What do we offer?
Appointment and compensation are in accordance with the collective labor agreement for higher professional education (CAO-hbo). The position is classified in pay scale 11 (maximum €5,127.39 gross on a full-time basis, generic job description: staff member, advisory-C); the starting salary depends in part on education and experience. The AHK offers attractive terms of employment in accordance with the collective labor agreement for higher professional education (CAO-HBO), such as an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, an ABP pension plan, a generous vacation policy, a generous travel allowance, and opportunities for study and professional development. The appointment is temporary for a period of one year with the possibility of extension. The position also requires a willingness to occasionally work additional hours if extra work arises. Workdays are flexible and irregular, sometimes including evenings or Saturdays.
