NEOS is an independent center of expertise for cultural education. Through consulting, programs, training, and networking activities, NEOS supports schools and organizations in Amersfoort and the surrounding area in developing their cultural offerings. We focus on young people aged 0–23 and are active in education, childcare, and the local community. In our work, we collaborate with cultural providers in Amersfoort and beyond. NEOS is formally part of the Stichting Scholen in de Kunst foundation, but operates independently, uses its own name, and works transparently based on its own vision and mission. NEOS reaches approximately 60 elementary schools and 20 secondary schools in Amersfoort and the surrounding area.
You will serve as the driving force and project leader for the development and implementation of four initiatives that NEOS aims to prioritize in the coming years:
Survey of Cultural Programs in Secondary Education
NEOS aims to make the wide range of cultural offerings from both subsidized and unsubsidized cultural providers in Amersfoort and the surrounding area more accessible and visible to secondary schools. To this end, you will conduct a survey of the existing cultural offerings in Amersfoort for secondary schools.
NEOS Product and Service Portfolio
NEOS also aims to better define, develop, and promote its own range of products and services for secondary education. NEOS’s products and services are focused on sustainable collaboration between NEOS and secondary education and include, among other things, educational consulting and teacher training. You will develop tools to assist consultants in their discussions with schools, support schools in developing a vision for their cultural education, and help design annual cultural plans.
Program Areas
You will be involved in and/or lead the development and refinement of several program areas in the fields of art and language, art and media, architecture, and crafts. In doing so, you will collaborate with cultural organizations and the education sector. Through this work, we will create new cultural offerings in the city.
Learning and experiential program for (young) creators
You will develop a program tentatively titled “Young Creators Program.” Through this program, young creators will explore, learn, and experience how they can use their artistic skills to inspire and engage young people, drawing on educational principles and various methodologies. As you design the program, you will assess the needs of young creators and seek out partnerships with relevant organizations.
You are very familiar with secondary education. Ideally, you have completed a degree in the arts or an equivalent program and possess pedagogical/didactic knowledge. A Master’s degree in Art Education is preferred.
