Are you curious and eager to grow? Great. Because in the dynamic field of Product Safety, you’ll continue to develop your skills. You’ll also have plenty of opportunity to share your ideas and take the initiative.
What else sets our team apart? The passion that radiates from us. We are committed to the NVWA’s goals and are driven to contribute to a better society!
To minimize risks to the public interest in product safety as much as possible, we are developing new tools, investing in innovative oversight, and implementing various tools, such as an online suite.
As a Product Safety Project Manager, you serve as a key link between policy and implementation. As a project leader, you coordinate the projects within Product Safety that stem from the annual plans. You will work on developing or implementing tools such as the NVWA Internet Suite. Together with your colleagues, you will work on new forms of innovative oversight. You focus on results and monitor the progress of these projects. When bottlenecks arise, you will discuss them with the Coordinating Specialist Inspector (CSI) or your supervisor. You will initiate innovative actions and contribute to the development of creative intervention strategies that encourage businesses to comply with the rules. You will build connections with the various teams within the cluster and other departments. Collaboration is crucial in this regard.
In addition, we believe it is important that you continue to develop your expertise in the field of product safety. As a Product Safety Project Manager, you ensure that you stay well-informed about developments in your field, including changes in laws and regulations. You collaborate with industry stakeholders and identify threats and opportunities for the organization. You advise the CSI and your team leader based on your subject matter expertise. You escalate issues at the right time or leverage your network. Furthermore, you always take into account the political sensitivity of your actions. When colleagues are looking for a sparring partner, you are the go-to person.
In short, a very versatile role!
You will be working in a talented team of enthusiastic and creative professionals dedicated to advancing regulatory oversight. Improving the safety of consumer products is a top priority for our team.
There are two distinct areas of focus within product safety: Chemistry and Engineering. The Chemistry Team focuses on the chemical safety of a wide range of products, from cosmetics to toys and from drinking cups to food contact materials. The Engineering Team comprises the following clusters: Physical-Mechanical and Electrical Product Safety (FME). FME focuses on technical product safety (including safe toys and safe machinery). And the WAS-WEE cluster works on the safety of playgrounds, fairs, and amusement parks, among other things, and verifies the accuracy of energy labels on household appliances.
