You will be part of HKU’s Facilities & Housing (FZH) team, a staff department that works closely with the support, management, and service teams at the various locations.

What will you be doing?
- As part of the facilities management team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing the long-term maintenance program (MJOP) for our (historic) buildings;
- You will work closely with the site managers and be able to identify opportunities for integration during projects, whether they stem from the Long-Term Maintenance Plan (MJOP) or from requested building renovations and/or sustainability initiatives;
- You will schedule meetings with both internal and external parties to initiate a maintenance project, discuss the details, and hand it over to the Heads of Operations and contractors. Throughout this process, you will monitor progress and make adjustments as needed;
- You monitor the budget and take prompt action if an imbalance arises;
- You will monitor progress and ensure that all legal documents related to the renovation or building modifications are properly documented;
- You regularly monitor the HKU-wide Building Management System and the Energy Management System to identify and anticipate anomalies;
- You will contribute to coordination and collaboration with the academic and research departments, administrative services, and other support departments at the various campuses.
What do you bring to the table?
- At least a higher vocational education (HBO) level of work and thinking, or equivalent, and demonstrable knowledge of architecture and building services engineering;
- You can adopt a collaborative and communicative approach, which allows you to easily connect with colleagues in both teaching and support roles, as well as with suppliers;
- You have a keen understanding of organizational dynamics, quickly grasp how an organization actually operates, and have a good sense of the underlying relationships.
- You have experience with FM systems (experience with O-prognose is a plus), project management, asset management, sustainability initiatives, and energy management;
- You have a good command of spoken and written Dutch and English.
What do we offer?
- In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for higher professional education, the gross monthly salary for full-time employment is in pay scale 10 (€3,377 to €5,378);
- Vacation pay (8%) and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
