Teylers Museum faces a number of digital challenges in its efforts to showcase the collection online as effectively as possible. To achieve this, the underlying collection and metadata infrastructures must be designed in such a way that the information is and remains discoverable, visible, and usable in an efficient and modern manner. In the short term, plans include the development of a new website and the migration of the collection management system.
Teylers is looking for an experienced project manager to adapt and manage the collection infrastructure. Are you able to serve as a point of contact for museum staff, data users, and software/service providers? And do you have knowledge of current standards for data access and the requirements these standards place on software and the organization of collection information? If so, we would love to hear from you.
Teylers Museum is seeking an Information Management Project Manager
Teylers Museum is the oldest museum in the Netherlands. It is a unique 18th-century institution of learning, housed in its original building. The museum is the place to marvel at art and science and boasts a fascinating collection of fossils, minerals, books, coins, medals, scientific instruments, paintings, and drawings of international significance. Recently, the beautifully restored home of founder Pieter Teyler has also opened to the public. We organize diverse and successful exhibitions, ranging from Leonardo da Vinci to Dinomakers, from Vogelpracht to Hockney’s Eye.
