Forum Groningen is a dynamic organization that brings together a variety of functions. Its staff are responsible for curating and programming the Forum on the Nieuwe Markt and the eight Forum libraries throughout the municipality of Groningen. Through its diverse programming, the Forum reflects on the world of today and the possibilities of tomorrow—in a way that allows as many people as possible to get involved or participate. After all, the future belongs to everyone.
One of the most eye-catching parts of the program is the exhibitions in the exhibition halls. Key themes include popular visual culture, technology, and current events & society. For example, we have brought major international exhibitions to the Forum on artificial intelligence (AI, More than Human), stop-motion animation (The Art of Aardman, Shaun the Sheep & Friends), video games (Game On, Experience 50 years of video games), and superheroes (The Art of DC, The Dawn of Super Heroes).
To achieve this even more effectively, we are looking for a
(24–32 hours per week / possibly on a freelance basis)
As the Exhibitions Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of exhibitions at the Forum. In addition to exhibition projects, you will also work on other projects, ranging from festivals to art installations.
You will oversee the process from concept through construction and evaluation, while keeping the budget and schedule on track. The exhibitions range from large-scale, international blockbusters to smaller-scale shows. You will often work on multiple projects at the same time. To do this, you will collaborate with colleagues and external partners, such as spatial designers, curators, graphic designers, copywriters, and builders.
A position for 24–32 hours per week. Initially, this is a one-year contract, which will be converted to a permanent contract if you prove to be a good fit. Under the Public Libraries Collective Bargaining Agreement, this position is classified at salary level 9, with a minimum of €3,293 and a maximum of €4,241 based on a 36-hour workweek (Job Profile: Project Manager III).
