We are looking for a Digital Inclusion Project Manager for the West Achterhoek Library. Are you an experienced project manager interested in helping shape this new role? If so, please read on.

The digital world is growing and changing rapidly. To ensure that everyone can fully participate in the digital society, we encourage our residents to continue developing their digital skills, information literacy, and media literacy. The West Achterhoek Library plays a key role in helping people engage with digitalization in a critical and informed way, and assists them in becoming and remaining self-reliant in the digital society. To this end, we are seeking a Digital Inclusion Project Manager to start as soon as possible.

What does the job entail?

This is a new position, so you will help shape its success. You will have the opportunity to help improve the digital literacy of residents in our municipalities. You will strengthen their self-reliance, increase their knowledge and awareness, and ensure that the benefits of digitization are available and accessible to everyone—digital inclusion.

You serve as a link between policy and implementation, working across teams and throughout the organization. Your mission for the coming years will be to raise the profile of our projects and collaborate on them with external partners (such as the Formulierenbrigade, the Volunteer Service Point, the UWV, the business community, and banks). You will serve as the central hub within the DigiTaalhuis and become part of an expert, ambitious, and enthusiastic team. You will work closely with the Taalhuis Coordinator, forming a dynamic duo in initiating, designing, managing, monitoring, and reporting on projects.

What will you be doing?

  • Further developing the national "Digital Inclusion" program and coordinating and expanding the content of the Digital Government Information Points (IDOs) for the locations in the three municipalities; see: information about the Digital Inclusion program
  • To explore the role the library can play in the area of digital inclusion, in the broadest sense of the term and for a diverse audience—from becoming and remaining self-reliant to engaging with digitalization in a critical and informed manner
  • Project management of new projects and related activities
  • You will help enhance our current digital skills services and work with colleagues to further develop and future-proof our programs and activities
  • Organize collaborations with residents and other stakeholders in the region.

What kind of candidate are we looking for?

  • You are a decisive and independent project manager with experience in setting up projects and developing programs
  • You have an interest in and knowledge of topics related to digital skills, and you are curious about the latest developments in the field of digital inclusion in all its facets, from IDOs to public debate to disinformation and social media.
  • Preferably, you have experience in the social sector.
  • You are capable of working at the policy level, conducting discussions, and formulating a plan for the future, but you can also easily switch to the operational and project levels.
  • You are a clear and enthusiastic communicator and team player: you build support within the organization and in the municipalities. Collaboration comes naturally to you
  • You have a college-level education and way of thinking.

Who are we?

We are the West-Achterhoek Library! The library has long since ceased to be just a place where you come to borrow books. The West-Achterhoek Library is a community hub where you can read, study, and participate in all kinds of activities. We have seven branches in three municipalities: Doetinchem, Doesburg, and Bronckhorst. To plan our activities, we collaborate with schools, social service organizations, social and cultural institutions, and local governments. We want residents of our municipalities to be able to read and learn in an enjoyable way and to be able to participate successfully in society.

We are a place:

  • Full of vibrant gathering places where residents can grow and engage with culture, all with a smile.
  • This helps promote equal opportunities by providing all children with a rich learning environment.
  • Where adults are helped to develop basic skills so they can take greater control of their lives.

What do we offer you?

We value your work-life balance. You’ll have the freedom to organize your workdays flexibly. This also includes a work laptop and phone. You will receive a salary based on the collective bargaining agreement (scale 9, between €3,293 and €4,241 for a full-time position of 36 hours), an 8% vacation allowance, a year-end bonus, and a pension plan.

We are offering you an initial one-year contract with the possibility of extension and a permanent position. We believe it’s important for you to grow, so we provide excellent development and training opportunities. You’ll be joining an inspiring team of great colleagues who value professionalism, quality, and flexibility. We support one another, share our knowledge, and are constantly working to improve the organization. We offer plenty of opportunities for both your professional and personal growth.
