Are you a strategic and collaborative project manager with a passion for quality education? Do you want to contribute to a sustainable overhaul of the primary school curriculum? Then we’re looking for you!

What will you be doing?

Primary education is on the cusp of significant changes to the curriculum. As Project Manager for Curriculum Implementation, you will play a key role—in collaboration with the AVS—in ensuring the successful rollout of the new curriculum in primary schools. You are responsible for coordinating, planning, and executing national activities related to the implementation, in close collaboration with our members, the AVS, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), and the Secondary Education Council (VO-raad). You translate strategic policy into actionable plans and ensure alignment between school practice and policy. You focus on ensuring coherence between curriculum development, professional development, and organizational development within school organizations.

In this role, you will work under the umbrella of the PO Academy and within the service cluster focused on supporting primary school organizations with their educational and organizational challenges. Together with the partner organizations, you will ensure that the implementation is well-coordinated, widely supported, and sustainably embedded in the practice of primary education, with an eye for both content and execution.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Developing and monitoring project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with the AVS.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Secondary Education Council
  • Organizing (joint) meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions for board members, school administrators, quality coordinators, and staff members.
  • Developing learning pathways and masterclasses in collaboration with the AVS and the PO Academy team
  • Translating policy into practical support.
  • Monitoring progress, gathering feedback, and making adjustments as needed.

Who are you?

You are an experienced project manager with a keen eye for processes, content, and stakeholder buy-in. You are confident, have knowledge of the education sector, and know how to drive change in a way that gains widespread support. In addition, you bring the following to the table:

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the education or public sector.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development or implementation issues in elementary education
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to reconcile differing interests.
  • Experience working in a political and administrative environment.
  • Results-oriented

Are you unsure whether you meet all the job requirements, but does the position appeal to you? Don’t hesitate to apply! We believe that talent develops in many different ways and are open to candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

What do we offer?

  • A challenging position for 32 hours per week.
  • A salary between €5,495 and €7,056 for a 38-hour workweek, based on pay scale 12 of the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities.
  • You will receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, 8% vacation pay, and a pension plan through the ABP.
  • 232 vacation hours for full-time employees and the option to accrue additional compensatory leave.
  • You can work from home or at the office, and we provide an internet and telecommuting allowance. We’ll also provide an office chair and monitor for your home office;
  • If your commute to our office near Utrecht Overvecht station is more than 10 kilometers, you will receive a travel allowance or an NS Business Card.

Where will you be working?

The PO-Raad (located right next to the Utrecht Overvecht train station) is the sector association for primary education. We represent the interests of school organizations in primary education, special primary education, and (secondary) special education. In addition, the PO-Raad drives innovative projects and knowledge sharing within the sector. Together with our members and approximately 80 colleagues, we work to ensure high-quality and accessible education for all children. We place great value on a diverse and inclusive workplace.
