As part of the Resilience & Continuity Program, the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region (VrAA) is working to establish coordination centers: permanent locations at fire stations that will play a central role in coordinating efforts, providing information, and supporting residents in the event of prolonged power outages and societal disruption.
Four fire stations in our region have been designated as pilot sites. These are currently being set up and developed. For this phase and the subsequent regional rollout, we are seeking a project manager who can provide direction, structure, and continuity for this initiative in the coming years.
As a project manager, you will oversee the development, implementation, and long-term maintenance of the coordination points. You will work in phases and ensure alignment between policy, implementation, and collaboration with partners.
Pilot phase (first 6 months)
You will coordinate and oversee the implementation of the four pilot coordination points. Together with the relevant partners, you will develop the following:
You will coordinate with other safety regions and the national program and develop a practical approach that yields clear lessons learned.
Policy and Decision-Making Phase
You will translate the results of the pilot projects into a regional policy proposal and prepare the ground for decision-making within the management team and the board.
Implementation phase
You will oversee the phased rollout to the other barracks in the region and ensure a practical, feasible implementation. In doing so, you will focus on planning, quality, and collaboration.
Quality assurance and further development
You will help establish agreements regarding management, maintenance, and further development. You will ensure that coordination points are permanently integrated into the organization, including planning, education, training, and drills.
You will work within the Resilience Program and coordinate closely with municipalities, fellow safety regions (including G4 and NW4), and internal teams.
You are a capable project manager who maintains a clear overview in a complex administrative environment and is skilled at bringing different parties together. You work in a systematic manner, communicate clearly, and easily switch between strategic and operational levels.
