Imagine IC is a space for heritage discussions in the Bijlmer. Together with the OBA, we are located on Bijlmerplein. We collect a wide variety of objects and memories, which we present to Southeast Amsterdam, the city, and the entire country through exhibitions and other events. We believe in heritage democracy. Because heritage represents who we are together, everyone has a say in it and a role in making decisions about it.
There are 8 people working at Imagine IC. We all feel a shared sense of responsibility for the entire organization. That said, everyone also has their own area of focus. We are currently looking for a project coordinator.
The role and responsibilities:
As a project coordinator, you will make a significant contribution to the development of our (long-term) policy; in doing so, you will support your colleagues in carrying out various projects and activities within the parameters of established targets, costs, quality, timelines, organization, and communication; you will oversee their implementation and also take on hands-on tasks yourself. In this way, you play an inspiring central role in the implementation of the projects and, thereby, in establishing Imagine IC as a heritage institution both locally and nationally. In your role as project coordinator, you will perform the following tasks:
- You will be responsible for the organization, planning, and budget management of projects, which include gatherings, exhibitions, public discussions, and training sessions.
- You will serve as a hands-on coordinator on the project team, which means you will also carry out (some of) the tasks yourself.
- You will serve as the primary or secondary point of contact for external project partners.
- You’ll also be on the floor helping out where needed.
- You will coordinate requests for general and work-related group visits, taking into account the activity schedule.
- Together with our neighbor, OBA Bijlmerplein, you’ll help shape the programming for OBA Imagine IC.
- You will be (jointly) responsible for the processing and administration of loans of objects and archival records.
Your profile
- You have demonstrated experience in a similar role;
- You are familiar with the heritage sector and are aware of recent developments in the tension between heritage and society;
- You enjoy creating and maintaining an overview, you can manage multiple projects at once, and you are results-oriented;
- From start to finish: you’re a good planner, you can set priorities, and from the project’s launch through to its evaluation, you keep an eye on the big picture and stay in control;
- You are self-reliant, able to adapt quickly, and can handle stress well;
- You have an eye for different interests and can translate them into action, while continuing to think from the perspective of Imagine IC.
