Project Coordinator, Informal Care Expertise Center
The Informal Care Expertise Center is one of the divisions of Markant. We advise organizations and professionals in healthcare, social services, and education, as well as our partners and the municipality, on informal care and support for informal caregivers. We provide information, conduct research, and offer training with the goal of shaping and promoting collaboration between clients, healthcare professionals, and informal caregivers.
As a project coordinator at our Center of Expertise, you are an expert in the field of informal care and informal care support. Together with the project manager and two colleagues, you will coordinate the activities within our Center of Expertise. You will carry out projects independently and have the space and freedom to bring your ideas to life. In your role, you will focus on a number of key themes, such as work and informal caregiving and “young caregivers.”
What will you be doing?
Professional Development: You will explore topics such as young caregivers, working caregivers, and foster parents so that you can share your knowledge in these areas.
- Advising: You answer questions from and provide advice to organizations and professionals. You advise employers on their policies regarding employees who are informal caregivers.
- Networking: You will network with formal and informal organizations in the healthcare and social services sectors, the municipality, and neighborhood teams. You will raise awareness of the topic of "young caregivers" in schools and ensure that we maintain a visible presence there.
- Identification: You identify opportunities and know how to turn them into actionable projects and action plans.
- Training: You will lead training sessions and workshops on your areas of expertise for professionals and organizations, with the goal of fostering collaboration between professionals and informal caregivers.
- Coaching: You will provide one-on-one coaching to young caregivers (ages 13–25).
- Project Management: You will independently manage projects—from research to the development of new products and strategies aimed at reaching informal caregivers and fostering collaboration with the professional healthcare sector. You will take ownership of your projects and be responsible for meeting their performance targets.
Where will you be working?
Markant is the center for informal care in Amsterdam, Diemen, and Duivendrecht, and is an independent organization operating under the umbrella of Cordaan. With 24 colleagues, we support informal caregivers in their caregiving tasks by providing information, training, and education, as well as deploying volunteers for respite care. Through our Center of Expertise, we enhance the expertise of professionals in healthcare, social services, and education, and advise the municipality and organizations on informal care.
Who are you?
You’re eager to make a big impact on informal care support in Amsterdam as part of a small team.
- You have acollege-level education.
- You’re hands-on, but you also have a knack for policy and strategy
- You have experience with or an interest in informal care support in the broadest sense, and you are able to quickly master new areas of specialization.
- You are able to work on a project basis and switch easily between different tasks.
- You can lead training sessions or are willing to learn how to do so.
What do we offer?
The terms of employment are in accordance with the VVT collective bargaining agreement.
- A one-year contract for32 hours perweek with the possibility of a permanent position
- A salary of up to€4,480gross based on a 36-hour workweek (FWG50)
- Year-end bonus of8.33%of gross annual income and vacation pay of8% per year
- Pension accrual through the Pensioenfonds Zorg & Welzijn pension fund, a group discount on your health insurance, and travel expense reimbursement in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement

When you start at Cordaan, you’ll receive a nicebonus!For full-time employment,you’ll receive€500 net(pro-rated based on your contracted hours). You’ll receive the first 50% at the start of your employment and the remainder after two years on the job. A nice reward for your hard work!
Are you referring anew colleague? If so, you’ll receive €250 when the colleague you referred starts. And after one year of employment, you’ll receive another €250. That means you’ll get a totalof €500 net!
