Would you like to work alongside passionate colleagues to create a world where people and nature thrive? And help build a “nature-positive” impact in the world’s most biodiverse landscapes by mobilizing people? That’s what you’ll be doing when you work at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF NL).

The Public Sector Partnerships (PSP) & Foundations team within the Engagement department is looking for an experienced fundraiser focused on public donors (including the Dutch government and the European Commission) who is committed to making the world a better place. If this sounds like you and you’re also looking for a new and inspiring work environment, then the position of Public Funding Project Manager at WWF-NL might be just the thing for you!

What will you be doing?

You will be working within the PSP & Foundations team, where you will raise funds for WWF projects from the Dutch government and the EU. As a public funding project manager, you will be responsible for the overall coordination and quality control of project proposals submitted to public donors. You will identify trends and opportunities within the sector and initiate new partnerships. You will work closely with colleagues from other departments to develop compelling proposals for nature conservation projects (including budgets) that align with the donor’s needs and requirements. In addition to drafting proposals, you will also be responsible for ensuring that all relevant information is delivered on time, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Within the Public Sector Partnerships & Foundations team, we regularly share ideas and work together on projects, supporting one another as needed. As a project manager, you will report to the Head of Partnerships & Fundraising and work closely with colleagues from other teams within WWF-NL and the international WWF Network.

Who are you?

The role of Public Funding Project Manager is designed to help increase WWF’s revenue from public funding. To this end, it is important that you bring experience in public funding fundraising. You are familiar with the donors and the requirements and processes involved in their funding. In addition, you excel at translating projects into substantively interesting and compelling proposals, which you develop and write both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. With your enthusiasm, energy, and drive to collaborate, you know how to engage and connect colleagues and other departments. Thanks to your focus, you set the right priorities and keep an eye on the organization’s goals. Together with the team, you keep each other on track and support one another where needed. You are empathetic and have a good sense of relationships.

Job Requirements

  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in project management; experience in the NGO sector is preferred;
  • Knowledge and experience in the development, submission, and approval of project proposals to public donors such as (but not limited to) the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other Dutch ministries and embassies, and the European Commission. You have a proven track record in this area and can demonstrate it;
  • Knowledge of Dutch, European, and global policy and development agendas;
  • Knowledge and experience in project management, including budgeting and reporting;
  • You are skilled at building new partnerships with development organizations and bring your own relevant network to the table;
  • You are enterprising and results-oriented;
  • Excellent verbal and written command of Dutch and English;
  • You are accustomed to operating in the international arena.

Skills

  • Diplomatic and communication skills;
  • Project-based thinking and working;
  • A connector and team player;
  • Results-oriented.
