NTR is the broadcaster behind acclaimed programs such as *Het Klokhuis*, *Andere Tijden*, *Nieuwsuur*, and *Kunststof Radio*. Guided by our mission to be “special for everyone,” we develop high-quality, relevant content for all audiences, with programs and productions that inspire and contribute to people’s personal growth.

For 63 seasons now, the NTR Saturday Matinee has been a flagship of NPO Klassiek’s live music programming. Unconventional and off the beaten path, it provides a stage for talented (Dutch) composers, ensembles, and musicians to perform at the highest level, supported by the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Groot Omroepkoor. The NTR Saturday Matinee continues to attract hundreds of season ticket holders every year and also enjoys great interest from music lovers who opt for one or more individual series.

In the coming years, the NTR aims to break new ground as a distinctive concert series, as new generations of concertgoers emerge, each with their own preferences in terms of form and content. This is a gradual process of renewal that should also appeal to our current regular audience. In addition, the NTR plans to further develop the Saturday Matinee across various media platforms. This will require new and different content, as well as a great deal of creativity.

To help shape this future, the NTR is looking for a

Programmer for NTR Saturday Matinee

which, within the framework of the public broadcaster’s Multi-Year Plan for Live Music, shapes the programming of successive concert seasons and the individual series within them.

Here's what we expect:

a conservatory or university program in musicology
extensive experience in programming for concert halls and/or radio and television
extensive knowledge of the international musical repertoire
thorough knowledge of international music practice
well-established in the Dutch music scene
capable of maintaining a national and international network of performing artists and their representatives
a clear vision of the ZaterdagMatinee’s place in Dutch musical life
specific ideas regarding the Saturday Matinee as a media product in a digital environment
a committed approach to marketing, audience development, and community building
Proven experience in budget management, skilled at negotiating
team player in relation to the production team and partners
driven, decisive, yet easy to get along with
convincing and articulate, both verbally and in writing

Here's what we offer:

A one-year contract starting August 1, 2024, with the possibility of extension. Depending on knowledge and experience, this position is compensated within salary grade J (€4,354.86 – €7,047.84) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for broadcasting personnel.
