Film Specials Programmer
The Film Specials Programmer independently curates compelling programs to complement our regular film lineup. The programs to be developed are guided by key principles such as artistic quality, social relevance, talent development, dialogue with the audience and the city, and reaching new audiences.
LantarenVenster aims to reach a broad audience with challenging and original programming. The Film Specials Programmer is responsible for innovative and distinctive programs that address social issues and appeal to a young and diverse audience. The employee feels responsible not only for the content of the programs but also for building a new audience and has ideas on how to do so.
We are looking for
Someone who wants to work in an inspiring environment as part of a fun and enthusiastic team. A film lover through and through who knows the city well and has a relevant (film) network. Someone who can conceive, develop, and execute original programs with energy and positivity. Someone capable of forging social themes and ideas—both their own and those of others—into an artistically relevant film program and attracting an audience for it. A central figure who can build on existing partnerships and forge new ones. Someone with programming, organizational, and support skills.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Developing engaging multidisciplinary in-depth programs and series to complement our regular film program
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating the content of these programs
- Engage with the audience for these programs
- Maintaining contact with relevant partners
- Developing and monitoring project schedules and budgets
- Preparing and submitting grant and funding applications
- Supporting the Senior Film Programmer
- General production support for the regular film program
Job Requirements
- HBO-level academic and cognitive abilities
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing special (film) programming and successfully building a new audience
- You have an affinity for the social and cultural sector and a network within it that is relevant to LantarenVenster
- Works carefully
- Proficiency in Dutch and English (knowledge of another language is a plus)
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Living in Rotterdam or the surrounding area

The position is classified within the LantarenVenster job classification system and falls under its own pay scale, with a salary ranging from €2,277.60 to €3,380.52 gross per month for a full-time 36-hour workweek.
