Program Officer, Safe Workplace

Fairspace was founded in 2017 out of a desire to use an intersectional and co-creative approach to build an inclusive public space for everyone, regardless of who you are or what you look like. Specifically, we develop interventions to put an end to street harassment and inappropriate behavior in the workplace. In recent years, we have built a track record of working toward a safe society through policy, education, and activism. Our partners range from companies and educational institutions to civil society organizations and international nonprofits.

Activities include:

• Maintaining contact with partners in the field of workplace safety. You will assess the needs and requirements of partners and translate these into sustainable solutions for a safe workplace
• Drafting and developing project proposals for long-term collaborations with partners 
• Develop and facilitate training sessions (including Training of Trainers) independently
• Planning training sessions and managing trainers
• Supporting Fairspace’s organization-wide strategy and activities, such as campaigns, lobbying, business development, and impact

Who are you?

The person we’d like to welcome to our team is organized and able to work independently. You enjoy maintaining contacts and building a network. You’re responsible and able to maintain a clear overview, in line with Fairspace’s planning and strategy. You also enjoy being part of an international and intercultural team within an organization that’s still rapidly developing and growing. We frequently explore new opportunities and encourage you to bring your own ideas and initiatives to the table. 

What are we looking for? 

• Five years of proven experience in project management
• Proven experience in maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, such as clients, municipalities, and civil society organizations
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills for organizing workshops and meetings
• We value diversity and inclusion. We’d love to hear from you about how you’ve worked on this in the past or what ideas you have on the subject
• An interest in issues such as equality, human rights, and safety
• Due to the nature of the work, it is important for this position that you are fluent in both Dutch and English

We offer:

• An informal, dynamic work environment that prioritizes workplace health
• Contract through the end of the year, with the possibility of extension
• Estimated salary between €2,800 and €3,800 gross based on full-time employment
• 8% vacation pay, 5% monthly pension contribution (to be used at your discretion), and full reimbursement of travel expenses
• Training and development opportunities 
• We work with the team one day a week at our coworking space in Rotterdam. The rest of the time, we’re often on the go or working from home, staying in regular contact.
