What will you be doing?

As a program officer specializing in communications, you will contribute to the successful implementation of programs that are central to our organization. These programs center on the active involvement of representatives from the cultural and creative sectors. This encompasses various disciplines (such as music or film), different roles (such as creators, producers, venues, or funders), and diverse backgrounds (such as career stage, education, or region). As a program officer, your responsibilities are therefore diverse: 

• Actively participate in the planning and execution of meetings. 
• Development of communication plans for “your” programs, including scheduling, identifying target audiences, and selecting tools and channels.
• Planned and ad-hoc content development: writing, designing, reviewing, and editing texts for newsletters, the website, and social media.
• Managing external (communications) partners.
• Coordinating our approach and communications with the general communications officer.

The program officer is a new position that is closely linked to at least two relatively new program teams. The possibility of working on additional programs may arise in the future. Within the programs, you will collaborate with the program director, the program secretary, and other internal and external stakeholders. You can find more information about the programs here:

Who are we looking for?

For this position, we are interested in speaking with candidates who can work both as part of a team and independently, who are proactive and creative in promoting our work, and who have a good sense of the tone and approach that will strengthen support for and enthusiasm about our programs.  

Working at Platform ACCT, as a network organization, requires you to be able to easily establish connections with external organizations and stakeholders to help ensure the smooth implementation of our programs. It is an advantage if you have experience in the sector and knowledge of the labor market, as well as how industry organizations, their representatives, and their constituencies operate. It is important that you have the right instincts, pick things up quickly, and proactively translate them into useful content and action. These qualities are more important to us than holding a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a communication-related field. You possess:  

• HBO-level academic and intellectual ability.
• Experience with communication tasks as described above.
• Don’t be afraid to take the initiative, make your own decisions, and get creative with copy, social media, and more.
• Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid model, including 1 or 2 days a week at the Platform ACCT office in central Amsterdam.
• Availability for at least 24 hours per week.
• An affinity for the cultural and creative sectors.
