Program Producer

Cultuur Academy supports cultural professionals in Arnhem, Nijmegen, and the surrounding region by offering tailored programs. We believe that investing in the training and development of cultural professionals leads to a stronger sector. We focus on the non-artistic aspects of working in the cultural sector.

In addition, we are actively building a network where asking questions and sharing knowledge are the norm, with the goal of strengthening individuals, organizations, and the sector as a whole. Connecting and meeting others are at the heart of what we do. Cultuur Academy is the go-to place for cultural professionals in the Arnhem/Nijmegen region to pursue their professional development.

Here's what you'll be doing:

Throughout the year, we create a diverse range of workshops, training sessions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking events, tailored to current trends and the needs of cultural professionals in the region. To develop and implement our educational offerings, we are seeking an experienced program developer with a strong network within the cultural sector—someone who stays attuned to current trends and can translate ideas and needs into inspiring programs.

As a program producer, you—along with two fellow program producers—form the beating heart of our organization. The team is led by a hands-on program coordinator. 

You feel at home in the cultural sector and have an eye for what goes on behind the scenes (the non-artistic side of things). You get a kick out of developing programs that truly help professionals advance their careers. As a program developer, your responsibilities will include:

• Translating current trends in the cultural sector into a relevant and innovative program.
• Engaging with cultural professionals—with a focus on leaders and managers—to translate their needs into concrete programs.
• Establishing and maintaining contact with trainers and ensuring that all program components run smoothly.
• Regularly host our own training programs

About you_

• You have proven experience as a program producer (or experience in a similar role).
• You have the ability to listen carefully, make connections, and translate needs into concrete programs.
• You have strong communication skills and can easily connect with a variety of audiences.
• You are proactive and enjoy working as part of a small team.
• Having a network in the cultural sector in Arnhem and/or Nijmegen is a plus.
• You are interested in other people and cultures. 
• You work in a structured manner and keep track of multiple projects at the same time.
• You are flexible and don't mind working outside of office hours from time to time.

What do you get in return?

• A one-year contract as a salaried employee for an average of 12 hours per week. (Start date: March 1, 2026—earlier start dates are possible).
• A competitive salary based on our in-house pay scale, level 6 (€2,769–€4,034), depending on your experience.
• We use an annual hours system, which gives you a lot of flexibility and freedom to manage your own schedule. 
• The option to work partly from home or at one of our locations. 
• Full-time employees are entitled to 30 days of leave (which combines vacation and personal leave). Cultuur Academy does not have mandatory holidays, but we give you the freedom to decide for yourself which holidays you’d like to celebrate. For part-time employees, vacation and personal leave days are prorated.
• Laptop allowance, phone allowance, and travel allowance.
• Training budget, and the opportunity to attend our own workshops and training sessions.
• The Cultuur Academy Foundation is not affiliated with a pension fund. However, we will provide you with a monthly contribution toward building up a pension plan. This allows you to choose how you want to save for retirement.
