Would you like to work in the heart of Amsterdam’s cultural and literary scene, in a unique, inspiring, and challenging role? Then come join our small, passionate team, where everyone’s voice is heard equally and where you can tap into our vast network of writers, poets, and other artists, cultural partner organizations, and publishers.
The Amsterdam Literary Activities Foundation (SLAA) is looking for aprogram producer (28 hours per week). As a program producer, you will be responsible for the content direction and execution of our productions.
SLAA develops innovative literary productions for all Amsterdammers. We have not only a literary mission but also a social one: to provide every Amsterdammer with access to literature. Diversity and inclusion are important to SLAA; Amsterdam is a vibrant city. This is reflected in our programming, and we want to see it reflected in our team as well.
We present events across every conceivable genre: from essays to spoken word, from lectures to panel discussions, from prose to poetry. These events take place in a wide variety of formats and at a diverse range of venues: think of an open mic night in a gallery, a variety show at the Bijlmerpark Theater, or a literary talk show in the Tolhuistuin. We provide a platform for Dutch and international writers, from established veterans to emerging talent, and are active throughout the city—from Southeast to North, from West to East, and from Downtown to Osdorp—as well as online.
SLAA offers a one-year fixed-term employment contract, with the possibility of renewal, at a competitive salary in line with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Performing Arts Venues, including a pension plan.
