Program Director for Biodiversity and the Circular Economy

As Program Manager for Biodiversity and the Circular Economy, you will coordinate our national projects focused onrestoring biodiversityand promoting asmarter use of raw materials. A key theme is the agricultural transition with a focus on people and nature. In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues from all federations across the country. You’ll help put these issues on the agenda and translate local knowledge and expertise—guided by a keen sense of opportunity—into national policy. Current events in society and politics are an important part of your work. You will also work on the internal development of a vision and portfolio for national project development. You will invest in the further professionalization of exchange, peer review, and collaboration between the12 provincial federationsand the umbrella organization. Your responsibilities will include:

• Proactive knowledge sharing among the 12 provincial federations, project leaders, and staff;
• Advocacy at the national level with various government agencies and policymakers;
• Preparing and monitoring the annual budget;
• Acquisition;
• Developing the work plan and monitoring its implementation.

Your profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with at least 7 years of experience in project and program management within the context of biodiversity and the circular economy. Your experience, vision, and personal drive are important to us. In addition:

• Do you have an academic level of work and thinking;
• Do you have strong organizational skills, are you a team player, and do you know how to motivate others;
• Do you have experience working within various types of networks involving many stakeholders and an affinity for the NGO sector?
• Are you decisive, results-oriented, yet also empathetic;
• Do you bring a healthy dose of creativity to the table and enjoy developing and launching new projects and opportunities?
• Are you a strong communicator, politically savvy, and do you naturally foster connections and engagement among people;
• Do you have a good sense of humor?

What we offer: 

• A 32-hour workweek with a gross monthly salary ranging from €4,151 to €5,642 based on a 38-hour workweek (scale 8 of the Forestry and Nature Sector Collective Bargaining Agreement). We will determine the exact amount based on your knowledge and experience.
• You will be offered a one-year contract; after that, the intention is to either renew this contract or convert it into a permanent contract.
• A good work-life balance. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to spend half your time working at various locations and from home.

• We will provide you with a work laptop, reimbursement for phone and home office expenses, and full reimbursement of commuting costs via public transportation.

We work hard every day to find solutions for nature and the climate. Across 12 provinces, our team of over 160 colleagues is making a difference for nature and the climate, together with the more than 1,300 local groups that have joined us. The Nature and Environment Federations Foundation (NMF) serves as the national hub for this collaboration. We bring the voice of the people to the government and strengthen cooperation among the 12 federations.
